resolved Revert Edit on "Cursed Princess Club"
Can we revert the most recent edit made to the Cursed Princess Club page? The edit contains extensive spelling and grammar mistakes (...and (in my opinion) it adds a lot of unnecessary cruft to the work description).
(I've privately messaged the editor and confirmed that English is not their primary language. They have been made aware that corrections/ changes will be made to the page.)
(Apologies if this isn't the right venue to request edit reversions - if not, please direct me to the correct forum or thread.)
resolved Irredeemable Exception, below exceptional threshold?
- My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic: Over the show's course, a significant portion of its antagonists are redeemed and brought to the heroes' side or, at least, convinced to drop their antagonism to them. The most notable exceptions to this are Cozy Glow, Queen Chrysalis, Lord Tirek, and King Sombra, half of whom scorn redemption at various points in their personal histories and who all eventually band together to serve as the final season's main villains, where they're eventually defeated for good and turned to stone (or completely vaporized by friendship magic, in the case of King Sombra).
If counting major villains (Luna, Discord, Starlight Glimmer, Stygian, Tempest Shadow and the unredeemed Storm King), that's only 50% redeemed. Counting minor antagonists that 14 to 16 redeemed (2 were a Hazy-Feel Turn) and 34 to 22 (if one discounts those not bad enough to be full villains), so that between 58% to 71% who remained unredeemed.
Does this trope not apply non-redemption is not that uncommon/exceptional? What is the threshold amount/ration to be considered the exception here?
resolved There are several edits by ethanm1 on the headscratcher page for a New Hope that seems written by AI Film
Example
Great question! The Death Star is powered by a powerful reactor located in the station's core. This reactor generates a massive amount of energy that is used to power a combination of propulsions systems, including repulsorlift engines, which allow the station to hover in the air or space, and sublight engines, which allow it to move through hyperspace. The Death Star also employs a special type of engine known as a hyperdrive, which is capable of moving the station across vast distances at faster-than-light speeds. This engine can be used to move the station between different star systems, and is what allows it to travel from one battle to another. However, it takes time to charge and power up the hyperdrive, which is why the Death Star is usually accompanied by a fleet of support ships, such as the imperial star destroyers, which can provide protection while it is charging its hyperdrive. Overall, the Death Star is a highly advanced and powerful vehicle that is designed to dominate the galaxy and instill fear in its enemies. The station's weapons, armor, and propulsion systems make it one of the most formidable craft in the galaxy, and its ability to travel from one system to another allows it to be a constant threat to any target, whether it's a rebel base, or simply an entire planet that it has been sent to destroy
Are the use of AI to answer headscratchers okay?
resolved Url rules violation
I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to add punctuation in the wiki word of any page here, and instead use a wiki word.

EDIT: There IS a Fanfic.Ultimate One Type Taylor page that's apparently completely separate from the first???
Edited by Lermisresolved Troper keeps changing other people’s edits and gatekeeping pages
So basically I’ve been looking through Star Wars character pages and i noticed that zakitaro has been overly involved in these pages. If you see the edit history for pages like Star Wars – Anakin Skywalker, whenever any troper adds an edit zakitaro makes massive alterations to the previous troper’s edit. Sometimes it’s fair, like replacing a trope with a more fitting trope, and most times I think it's just downright disrespectful and unfair because they completely change the explanation for the trope that someone else added. Whatever a troper adds, zakitaro frequently comes in and changes it and I think it’s kind of rude and inconsiderate of other tropers. They also massively gatekeep the Anakin Skywalker page because I and other tropers frequently have to wait before we can make edits because zakitaro is almost always editing on there and if you look at edit history it proves that.
resolved More unilateral changes by RosaHG
So back in December, I had reported RosaHG for unilateral image changing. They were suspended and released with the understanding they would use Image Pickin' to discuss future image changes.
Which they have...sort of. They've made three posts in the Image Pickin' thread. The first was for proposing an image that pretty much got shot down immediately, the second was a quality upgrade that went through fine, but the third was an image that they then immediately threw up on the page without waiting for any feedback. They were called out in the IP thread and a separate thread where they were warned by a moderator.
Their latest edit is unilaterally changing the caption of The Greatest Showman, and while I know that changing captions isn't as frowned upon as images, this was something they were doing before the suspension, and it doesn't appear that they've learned anything after being unsuspended.
Edited by Arctimonresolved Low-effort image suggestions by a recurring problem troper
Rosa HG has had a history of making unilateral edits of images and replacing them with images from My Little Pony, and has taken to making several low-effort suggestions on Image Pickin' today (1, 2, 3, 4, 5), most of them being MLP-related, some of them being reposts of the same images they inserted unilaterally several months ago (including the image from Came from the Sky, which they further kept trying to push in the Image Suggestion thread despite being told several times that it's not great), and none of them giving any adequate explanation for why they should replace images for tropes that already have them (their Licked by the Dog suggestion also implies to me that they don't actually understand what the tropes in question properly are). It looks to me like they still fundamentally don't understand the point of how the site handles this whole Image Picking process, has ignored the efforts to correct and guide them, and is taking to spamming the forum.
Update: 6th thread.
Edited by number9roboticresolved Making a page with the community Webcomic
About a week ago, there was discussion about giving the original Peter and Company (or as I plan to call it, Peter and Company (1998), though I'm fully aware the title can be changed by others by consensus so the title I picked is not official) its own page rather than trying to merge it with the current incarnation of the comic. This I am currently working a draft on.
Now, given the sensitive nature of the topic, this is a page I would actually like to work with the community of TV Tropes over. Do I just go straight to the launch pad activity like I would a proposed trope for that?
Edited by Stardust5099resolved NRLEP with page.
The Real Life page for Mercy Kill exists, although last I checked, it was listed as NRLEP. It just isn't linked to on the main page itself anymore. Was this an oversight?
resolved Possible ban evader?
I may well be wrong on this, but there’s a troper named jhonsogflint who has only been active here since March 2024 and might be a ban evader, specifically of Planet Of The Primates and/or Amour Le Fou. They just resurrected a two-year old TLP proposal first created by Amour Le Fou, and the latest edit on the proposal is credited to that bounced troper (might be a glitch, though).
The TLP proposal is for Human Noises. Link here.
Could an IP check be done to find out one way or the other? Thanks.
Edited by BoltDMCresolved Possible edit war
On YMMV.Touken Ranbu Warriors (and it's previous name Touken Ranbu Musuo):
- Troper biggestSoap added an Esoteric Happy Ending entry on its previous name before I moved it.
- I removed it, citing this comment on the "Is this an Example" thread".
- Soap added it again (albeit rewritten) on the new named page.
I'm not sure if edit warring counts when a page is moved from its original language title to one that is officially localized so I wish to know.

resolved kkj12345 = Canine99 and Superherofanatic1999?
As mentioned here, a troper named Canine 99 was suspended for bashing people in the Choices: Stories You Play fandom. I have a suspicion that kkj12345 may be them ban evading. Both tropers frequently edit(ed) pages (more often than not, YMMV and Trivia pages) regarding Choices books, often with a negative tone, and they both have/had a tendency to add Fan Nicknames that only they used (and sometimes, they fell into "Detractor Nickname" territory, despite them not being allowed anymore). The former troper was suspended in 2019 (and apparently ban evaded once already as Superherofanatic 1999 later the same year), while the latter troper began editing in Spring 2021. This page (specifically, regarding the same Fan Nickname entry) all but confirms my suspicions.
Edited by UFOYeahresolved Page to cut, misuse.
UnintentionalUncannyValley.Fan Works and UnintentionalUncannyValley.Tabletop Games were removed from Unintentional Uncanny Valley as all examples were intentional and moved to Uncanny Valley.
Is there a reason the pages were not cut or should they be.
resolved Franchises Across Multiple Media Categories
I launched Melting Pot Sci-Fi Setting yesterday. During TLP I arranged the Star Trek and Star Wars examples into their own Franchise folders. I did this because these are media Franchises with shared lore that all rely on the trope, so scattering be between different media categories makes things hard to follow.
During the TLP there was discussion about me initially alphabetizing this incorrectly but nobody seemed to mind me keeping the Franchises together: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/discussion.php?id=6i0kr1c7noxf5im7knrfo4op
However ~Nejiiuyn has edited the page and split them up and now it's confusing:
I don't want to just reverse this as I'd be edit warring but I did want to bring it here for discussion.
I'm suspicious about Defective Detective, who only has activity since May 19th. They have the same editing patterns as jhonsogflint, who was discovered in a previous ATT to be a ban evader. Defective Detective often edits and crosswicks on Scarface (1983) just like jhonsogflint used to do. And they are currently adopting and posting TLP drafts about languages: 1, 2. That's the same fixation jhonsogflint had, with many sandboxes about language tropes.
Please check if Defective Detective is a sock.
