Consider me excited, hope Stahelski, Leitch and Reeves are all able to return. And the rest of the cast that wasn't killed off, but that's not a lot.
E: Whoa, just found out the UK isn't getting the original until April, that's insane.

Sing the song of sixpence that goes burn the witch, we know where you liveTake it into a new genre! Bring everybody back as cyborgs. Or ghosts. Or cybernetic ghosts.
I liked the movie a lot, and it's nice that it grossed more than I thought(I somehow got the idea it was a box-office dud). So, yes, sequel please.

Went in not expecting much. Movie completely blew me away. I've not had this much fun watching a shoot 'em up since, well, Shoot 'Em Up.
Good job, John Wick.

"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."Nabbed this from Redbox, was very, very impressed. Definitely considering adding it to my collection.
Spoilers (sort of), but, I really liked this scene:
I'm off to see this film this evening. Looking forward to it.
Emergency double post - just finished watching this film. Initial impressions are that it was awesome and it's also Keanu's best film in decades.
Now the big question: Will his dog get killed again or what will be the impetus to set him off this time around?
I would enjoy a prequel.
"War without fire is like sausages without mustard." - Jean Juvénal des UrsinsFunny, I saw an opinion in that comment section that said "no prequels"!
I kind of agreed, I mean, it feels like "keeping his backstory minimal" is vital, yet, I also don't know where else they'd go with it. But then does anybody really care to see a prequel-sequel? And then what about a third movie, because of the Rule of Three? We don't want this to be like Taken where he loses a dog every movie either, PETA will have a field day with that.
Still, John's history is a tale deserving more light. Seeing a younger, deadlier John slowly becoming the person we know would be interesting.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!You'd have to find a way to make him sympathetic, though. Or otherwise work around the fact that he is inherently neither a good person nor a hero.
Just make him the slightly lighter shade of black.
"War without fire is like sausages without mustard." - Jean Juvénal des UrsinsJohn Leguizamo should come back in the sequel. His scenes with that odious little shit of a Russian mafia boss's kid were excellent. Come in with the stolen car of one of the worst hitmen on the face of the planet and expect me to strip it down for parts? MEGATON PUNCH. - that kind of thing.
I've seen a lot of people comment they'd like seeing John Wick's "impossible task" that earned his retirement, the one upon which Viggo's entire powerbase was built on.
My personal headcanon is that said impossible task was single-handedly assaulting and annihilating a meeting between all of the criminal heads of East Coast (possibly of America) and thus, by himself, wiping out the entire backbone of America's crime to pave way for Viggo's ascenscion.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Possible.
Though I think it more likely that he wiped out all of the Bratva in America that weren't part of Viggo's organization, from the avtoritet on down to the lowest patsani.

Heard there was good buzz with this film. After watching it, it was a great action movie. Here's hoping the sequel is good as well.
Chapter 2 gets a date and a location. Rome.

I enjoyed the first movie. I think my favorite part is actually the first few minutes where Wick loses and grieves for his wife. That scene where he reads the letter that came with the puppy and just breaks down crying is the best part of the movie.
Love this movie, definitely my favourite Keanu Reeves movie.
While I agree a prequel would be pretty damn neat, from the looks of things its more or less confirmed to be a sequel. The line Winston had about dipping a pinkie into the pond, and Wick's conversation with Marcus has me speculating that the events of the sequel will somehow be triggered by John's actions in the first film, which I guess is pretty obvious, but I'm not sure I like the idea of him going back to work and taking jobs again, I feel like the hot blooded theme of revenge added a lot to his character and the film, and seeing him revert to cold blooded assassinations would be a little less satisfying. The scene Soble linked is more or less the reason I feel this way.
But that being said, since it's the same writers and directors, I have faith that they're going to get it right.
