The Fantastic Four are fighting the latest Doombot when it has a breakdown and begins to repeat, "No destroy!" They take it back to the Baxter Building, where it and Ben become friends. But "Bruiser" is still a Doombot, and Doom is still looking to destroy the Four. Could their new friend be part of it?
This episode contains examples of the following tropes:
- Character Catchphrase: Bruiser continually uses the phrase "Says who?"
- Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: Reed and Susan allege that Doom can't understand their teammates while Doom is trying to stop Ben and Johnny's rescue attempt.Reed: Don't you understand, Victor? They don't care how ingenious your defences are or how amazing your science is; they just care about rescuing us.Doom: What are you blathering on about?Susan: You'll never stop them, Doom, because you don't know how to fight them.
- Played with later when Doom reveals that he has a plan for the contingency of Bruiser pulling a Heel–Face Turn.
- Expospeak Gag: After Bruiser has taken Reed and Susan.Johnny: Now where would he have gone.HERBIE: Ahem. Although I may not be a latest-generation Doombot, I am sophisticated enough to know that his most likely destination is the Latverian embassy.Johnny: Oh, I know! He's probably at Doom's castle!HERBIE: sigh
- Face–Heel Turn: Bruiser.
- Instant A.I.: Just Add Water!: Reed says HERBIE isn't sentient, but it's hard to believe when HERBIE is doing things like going on strike because he feels insulted.
- ...In That Order: A variant; when Johnny is captured, he tells Ben to rescue his sister...and Reed too, if he can.
- Invincible Incompetent: Ben and Johnny manage to create the "strategy" which impresses Doom by accident. They outmanuever his missiles because their squabbling shakes the jet, and they employ a "two-pronged attack" because they can't agree how to get in.
- Killed Off for Real: Dr. Doom, if Offscreen Inertia applies. He is shown looking up to see Bruiser's self-destructing body falling on him.
- Not Quite Dead: Bruiser transferred his programming into Reed's PDA. His body self-destructed, but his mind is very much still alive.
- Self-Destruct Mechanism: Doom installed one in Bruiser just in case. He activates it at the end of the episode. This gets him Hoist by His Own Petard.
- This Cannot Be!: Doom is incredulous when Ben and Johnny consistently get past his security.
- Title Drop: Dr. Doom uses the title phrase when trying to get Bruiser to listen to him.
- Unrealistic Black Hole: in Doom's castle. He uses it to get in Ben and Johnny's way, but Ben closes it by using a thunderclap.
- What Measure Is a Non-Human?: Bruiser and HERBIE.
