"Humans are obsessed with scatology."
— Braniac, Injustice 2
Defecation. Everybody is guilty of doing it, no doubt about that. Despite the fact that fiction likes to pretend that we don't do it, there are still plenty of tropes about excretion and that stuff that comes out the other end, whether it be human or animal poop.
Sub-index of Bathroom Tropes. Named after the South Park episode "A Very Crappy Christmas".
Tropes:
- Anuscape Plan: Considering or committing to the idea of escaping the inside of a body via the anus, or even being excreted out this way regardless.
- Bird-Poop Gag: That moment when the Feathered Fiends go splat.
- Bowel-Breaking Bricks: A character's surprise is accompanied by a visual metaphor for them crapping themselves.
- Bring My Brown Pants: Someone crapping themselves out of fear.
- Burning Bag of Poop: Putting feces (dog's... hopefully) in a paper bag, set it alight, and watch some heroic, macho volunteer come over and stomp the fire out.
- Dung Fu: Thrown excrement used as a weapon.
- Excrement Statement: Crapping (or peeing) on something/someone to show contempt.
- Laxative Prank: Someone tricks a person into unknowingly consuming a laxative, which will result in a Potty Emergency or a Potty Failure.
- Nobody Poops: No one is seen going to the bathroom because it would detract from the story.
- No Dead Body Poops: In Real Life, a body's bowels will often unclench after it dies. In fiction, this is usually glossed over or ignored.
- Pooping Food: A creature that poops perfectly edible and perfectly looking food.
- Pooping Where You Shouldn't: Pooping in a place other than a toilet.
- Road Apples: Jokes about animal poop.
- Solid Gold Poop: One character's or species' waste products (often feces) are valuable to another character or species.
- Talking Poo: Anthropomorphic feces.
- Toilet Humour: Disgusting bodily functions (usually crapping) played for comedy.
