The Freakateers
In General
- Affectionate Nickname: All of them receive one by the end of Chapter 52. Izuku is Green Bean, Hitoshi is Purple Panda, Mei is Pink Gremlin and Shoto is Peppermint Prince. Also works as Color-Coded for Your Convenience.
- Mythical Motifs: The Musketeers, obviously:
- Shoto is d’Artagnan. As Izuku points out, is a strong and good leader but still inexperienced in some things. Plus, he is the youngest of their group.
- Izuku is Athos, due to his protectiveness towards Shoto, his bullied past and his connection to a criminal, Chizome.
- Mei is Porthos. Due to her blunt honesty and lack of tact, as well as her being a socially awkward extrovert.
- Hitoshi is Aramis, due to his ambitious personality and eternally loyal towards his friends.
- True Companions:
- Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: As Hitoshi points out, their crew is composed of: Himself, a quote unquote ‘Villain’…; Izuku, a Quirkless person who just gave a big ‘fuck you’ to society by winning the Sports Festival, Mei, their resident Mad Scientist and Shoto, their newest member and Broken Ace.
- With a Friend and a Stranger: Izuku, Hitoshi and Mei were friends before officially joining U.A., with Shoto becoming a member of their group by the end of the Sports Festival.
Izuku Midoriya — Edge/Hiro
Izuku Midoriya — Edge/Hiro
Quirk: Quirkless
The Hero of the story. After having his dream crushed by All Might, Izuku found a new resolve after being recognized as a true hero by Stain. As such, he sets up a new goal: Become the first Quirkless hero ever.- Adaptational Badass: While Izuku doesn't have One for All, that doesn't mean he is a slacker. He had been trained in self defense and hand-to-hand combat in order to fend off against bullies years before the story begun.
- Adaptational Name Change: Since Ochako never redefined the meaning of "Deku", he ends up naming himself "Blank Canvas Hero: Edge".
- Adaptational Sexuality: Played With. In canon, Izuku is attracted to girls, always flustered and unable to talk to them, and has a Ship Tease with Ochako. Here, is was never stated what kind of person he is attracted to (most likely none, due to his social awkwardness) but he is complete and clearly in love with Shoto.
- Affectionate Nickname: He collects several troughout the story:
- Chizome calls him "Little Hero".
- Mei calls him "Hero-kun".
- Ochako calls him "Mido".
- Dark Shadow calls him "Sun Boy".
- Midnight and later Hitoshi call him "Green Bean".
- Present Mic calls him "Little Listener".
- Awesomeness by Analysis: He is a highly skilled analyst, being capable of picking Quirks apart very quickly, immeadiatly recognizing how Shigaraki's Quirk works on a five-finger contact and later how Stain's Quirk paralysis varies depending of the blood type.
- The Apprentice: Despite not being All Might's successor, Izuku ends up being trained by a number of other U.A. teachers: He is taught combat by Aizawa, JSL by Mic, Analysis by Nezu and First Aid by Recovery Girl.
- Appropriated Appellation: His underground Hero identity, "Hiro" was his secret identity while observing the Hero students in order to avoid Bakugo. It is also Mei's Affectionate Nickname to him.
- Badass Adorable: A strong and capable hero student, that Shoto internally admits to be cute.
- Badass Normal: He may be Quirkless, but Izuku is not defenseless, best shown during his fight against Chizome during the Hosu arc.
- Berserk Button: Prejudice is a major one to him. He unwilingly snaps at Tenya for suggesting that Bakugo should go easy on Ochako during their match just because she is a girl. He loses it again when Ojiro says that Izuku should be aware of Hitoshi because of his "villainous" quirk.
- Broken Pedestal: While he could understand the reason why All Might did not believed he could be a hero without a Quirk when they met, it wasn't until All Might unintentionally disregarded all his hard work by offering him One for All that caused Izuku to no longer look up to the Symbol of Peace as his inspiration. The biggest statement of his disappointment is Izuku giving away all his All Might merch in order to move on from him.
- Broken Tears: While he often cries a lot, the most sad example happens after All Might tells him he stil thinks he can be a hero without a Quirk. To add sadness, Izuku didn't realized he was crying until he felt the tears on his cheek.
- Can't Believe I Said That: Upon being harassed by Endeavor before his match with Shoto, Izuku thinks that the Number Two Hero should be taken out by Stain, something that disturbs him, because even though Endeavor is a bastard, that doesn't mean the young man wants him to become a victim of the Hero Killer.
- Clark Kent Outfit: His "Hiro" outfit consists of a beanie and sunglasses, but is enough for Bakugo not recognize him. Izuku later adopts this outfit in order to avoid attention from his unwated fame, specially after Hosu.
- Determinator: Like in canon. Even though he is throughly outmatched against Chizome and it hurts his feelings to fight against the first person that ever believed in his dream, he still refuses to back away and stands his ground to protect Native from the Hero Killer.
- Dual Wielding: His figgting weapons are a pair of escrima rods.
- Famed In-Story: First by being the first Quirkless winner of the Sports Festival and then after receiving sole credit for Stain's takedown.
- Freudian Trio: He is the Ego (Diligent, reserved, and intelligent) to Hitoshi's Superego and Mei's Id.
- Gadgeteer Genius: In order to compensate for a Quirk, Izuku relies on his Support Items, mostly based on existing Quirks, like his Fire Breath Mask and his Jet Shoes.
- Generation Xerox: Much like his uncle Yoichi, Izuku is a strong-willed, caring, All-Loving Hero that always stands for doing the right thing and never gives up, no matter how difficult everything looks.
- Good Feels Good: Izuku refused to take credit for cleaning up Dagobah beach, accepting the happiness of other people as a reward.
- Humble Hero:
- He did not wanted to receive credit for cleaning Dagobah beach, taking people's happiness as a reward.
- Izuku only accepted receiving sole credit for Stain's capture because the alternative would be Endeavor being credit for it, something neither him nor Shoto wanted.
- Intergenerational Friendship: And odd example, between him (16) and Chizome, who is in his late 30s.
- Meaningful Name: Twofold:
- His sobriequet "Blank Canvas Hero", is a reference to Mei's line about by not having a Quirk, it leaves his path open to be the hero he wants to be.
- "Edge" is a reference to Chizome's line over how despite not having a Quirk, Izuku needs to create his edge and work from there on to be the hero he wants to.
- Mission Control: He serves as this for the hero students during the USJ.
- Mirror Character: To Yagi, but Defied by Izuku. Just because the two of them were Quirkless with dreams of being a hero, their simillarities end their. Unlike Yagi, Izuku actually tried to become a Quirkless hero, while the Symbol of Peace never tried before receiving One for All from Nana.
- Morality Chain: Izuku's positive influence not only helps Chizome to overcome his Black-and-White Insanity but leads to a redemption path to the former Hero Killer upon his capture.
- Pungeon Master: His humor style are puns. The extremely lame variety, most to Aizawa's annoyance.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: It takes a lot to make him loose his cool, but when it happens, Izuku explodes with anger, to the point he will swear like a sailor
- First it happens when Bakugo attacks him during the Sports Festival.
- It happens again when All Might invalidates his hard work by offering him One for All and saying he still can't be a hero without a Quirk.
- A minor example when he finds out that Hitoshi's parents abandoned him because of his Quirk.
- Precision F-Strike: When he loses his temper, it often leads to it:
- After Bakugo breaks his Support Items he lets out one when he says that he is done with the explosive teen bullshit.
- After All Might diminishes his work by offering him One for All, Izuku leaves several, finishing their conversation by telling Yagi to "go fuck" himself.
- Scarf of Asskicking: He receives Chizome's red scarf as a gift after their fight in Hosu.
- Single-Target Sexuality: The only person he seems to feel any kind of attraction towards to is Shoto, and only him. The feeling is mutual.
- The Strategist: Izuku's keen intelect is one of the most powerful weapons of his arsenal from the Sports Festival to Hosu, his analysis make him a prodigy strategist.
- The Team Normal: The only Quirkless student in the U.A. Hero Course.
- Terms of Endangerment: Shigaraki calls him "Little Hero", something that deeply disturbs Izuku since this is Chizome's nickname to him.
- Running Gag:
- He often goes on muttering storms without noticing it, which often ends when someone calls him up and him saying "Did I said it out loud?" and the person confirming it.
- When Mei goes over-enthusiastic about her "babies" he is the one to ask her to context it.
- Weak, but Skilled: In comparison to Quirked individuals, he is weak, but Izuku makes up for it with his sharp mind, support itens and tenacity.

Quirk: Bloodcurdle
An independent villain known for murdering Pro Heroes of the Nominal Hero variety. His meeting with Izuku after he had his hopes of being a hero crushed by All Might is the main divergence point from canon. After hearing Izuku's dream and seeing he wants to become a hero out of the desire to help others, Stain declares that he can be a hero, and is the first person on Izuku's life to do so. Time passes and more of Izuku's actions make him worhty of being considered a true hero, replacing All Might as The Paragon he considers to be necessary from saving the world from the corrupt system of fakes that live on it. Eventually, he is recruited by Naomasa Tsukahuchi as a consultant to investigate corrupt heroes. The first target of their list: Endeavor.- Shadow Archetype: To Izuku. Much like him, Chizome was inspired by All Might to be a hero, his quirk is not exactly combat suited, so he Fights Like a Normal, relying on knifes and his katana on combat, much like Izuku relies on his esgrima rods, and has strong sense of justice, except Chizome's has been corrupted by Black-and-White Insanity. In his youth, Akaguro enrolled in one of the country's best hero course schools. Arriving there, however, he found out that their main concern was towards image and fame instead of justice and fairness. With no one to listen to him, he abandoned the hero course and went missing for over a decade, training himself to become a vigilante. After his encounter with Knuckleduster, however, Chizome came to think that the main cause of the corruption in the world were the fake heroes that only care about their ambition and power. He abandoned his Stendhal identity and became Stain, The Hero Killer. It's highly implied that the lack of positive influence on his life is what lead to Chizome becoming cynical and delusional with society, unlike Izuku, who still has his parents and his newfound friends to help keep moving forward and not lose himself.

Enji Todoroki — Endeavor
Quirk: Hellfire
Japan's Number Two Hero and the patriarch of the Todoroki family. A rude and abrasive hero, obssessed on surpassing All Might at any costs, Enji Todoroki decided that if he couldn't do so, one of his descendants would. In this, the man arranged a Quirk Marriage with Rei Himura, a woman with a strong ice Quirk in order to create a child with a perfect match of their Quirks, which came in the form of his youngest son, Shoto.- Abusive Parent: He is even worse than in canon, being physically abusive towards Rei, Toya and Shoto, but also emotionally so towards his oldest children, calling Toya a failure to his face, before saying he would not waste time training him anymore.
- Adaptational Jerkass: Borderlines into Adaptational Villainy. Not only he is more abusive towards his family, when Rei threatned to leave and take the kids with her, Endeavor said that he would use his power to take the custody for himself and make sure Rei never saw them again, something the mother realized he had the power and will to do. He is also a social darwinist that only sees values people to their strenght and Quirks and so, he is also a massive Quirkist jerk, being outraged that his "masterpiece" lost the Sports Festival to a "dreg of society".
- Arch Nemesis Dad: To all of his children, specially Shoto.
- Destructive Savior: During their respective researches on Endeavor, Chizome, Aizawa and Tsukauchi find out that the man causes as much, if not more, damage during his fights than the villains he goes against. Of course, the HSPC covers everything up.
- Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: Evil may be a stretch, but once again, Endeavor really blurs the line between jerkassery and villainy. He doesn't understand why Izuku would "waste his time" helping other people during the Obstacle Race, instead of focusing on winning the event.
- Hate Sink: This version of Endeavor lacks any, if not all redeeming qualities that led to his canon counterpart redemption arc. The only thing that matters to him is to become the Number One Hero, and there is nothing he won't do to achieve this goal.
- Jerk with the Heart of a Jerk: He is so annoyed about All Might being a better hero than him that the simple thought of someone like him existing pisses him off to no end. Izuku's selfless acts during the Sports Festival are more than enough to get him on Endeavor's bad side.
- Politically Incorrect Hero / Politically Incorrect Villain: Again, Endeavor really blurs the line between being an asshole and just straight-up evil. He is very resentful towards the fact that Quirkless boy defated his masterpiece.
- Nominal Hero: The only heroic aspect about Endeavor is his position as the Number Two Hero, and even that, people like Stain and Eraserhead assume, happened with a lot of cover-ups and bribery.
- Shadow Archetype: To Bakugo, something acknowledged by multiple people in the story. Both have fire based Quirks, are quick to anger and are obssessed with becoming the Number One Hero. Endeavor is a dark representation of what the explosive teen will look like if doesn't face consequences for his actions and learn thar winning is not everything.
- The Social Darwinist: To him, strenght is everything that matters. Which is one of the main reasons he despises the fact that a Quirkless teenager defeated his son.

Toya Todoroki, the son of Rei and Enji Todoroki, the Number Two Hero Endeavor. Since Endeavor was never strong enough to surpass All Might on his own, he purchased a quirk marriage with Rei Himura, and Toya was the firstborn of the four children. Toya, however, inherited his mother's resistence to ice temperatures, which means that if he overused his quirk, flames that were hotter than his father's, his skin would burn out. After Shoto was born, Toya was tossed aside, deemed a failure. At first, he hated his siblings, specially Shoto, but grew out of it upon realizing how miserable his brother's life was. After his mother was hospitalized, Toya misteriously disappeared, with Endeavor claiming he is gone from the world.Toya, however, survived an accident that left him horribly disfugured, and now goes by the villain name Dabi, and is obssessed at destroying his father and avenge his family at any cost, going as far as helping the Hero Killer and later teaming up with the League of Villains to do so.
- Adaptational Early Appearance: Slightly. He is introduced at the beginning of the Hosu arc, instead of by the end of it.
- Adaptational Nice Guy: As Rei's flashbacks reveal, Toya managed to grow out of his jealousy and Irrational Hatred towards his youngest brother and the rest of the Todoroki family, to hate only Endeavor, the actual person to blame for the abuse he and his siblings had to endure. Comes present day story, Dabi is enraged and even guilty upon finding out that Endeavor is still putting Shoto trough the same Training from Hell that both of them had to endure since their Quirks came in, and gives Stain necessary info to take down the Number Two Hero.
- Anti-Villain: Implied. He only seems to care about destroying Endeavor, and unlike his canon counterpart, does not hate his family. Confirmed during his inner monologue on Heritage. He doesn't really cares about Stain's idea of wiping out all fakes, he only cares about destroying Endeavor.
- Cain and Abel: Subverted. He is villain and Shoto is a hero, but Dabi does not hates him like in canon. Quite the opposite, he seems to feel guilt over the fact that his brother is still being abused after all these years.
- Dramatic Irony: Dabi hates Izuku for ruinning his plan by arresting Stain, completely unware that Izuku was the one who sent the Hero Killer after Endeavor in the first place.
- Hidden Depths: He was the one to teach Shoto on how to use a tie when his brother was young.

CEO of the Detnerat Company by day, Rikiya Yotsubashi is secretly the leader of the modern day incarnation of the Meta Liberation Army, going by the codename Re-Destro.- Adaptational Early Appearance: He is introduced by the end of the Hero Killer/Hosu arc instead of during the Meta Liberation Army arc.
- Corrupt Corporate Executive: Yotsubashi is the head of a major Support Item company, while secretly acting as the leader of a Quirk Supremacist organization.
- Fantastic Racism: Much like all elements of the MLA, Yotsubashi looks down on people with weak Quirks, and specially Quirkless.
- The Social Darwinist: Much like all Destro's followers, he is a deep believer that those with strong and powerful Meta Abilities should rule over the weak.
