Cut as WMG is only about the contents of the work not its reception.
Do we want to cut list the page or leave until it has legit WMG?
Edited by Ferot_DreadnaughtLike cut the entries or cut the page altogether until they can be serious?
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.WMG entries don't have to be serious is the thing. Like trolling in WMG is not against the rules by any means, it's meant to be fun.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessLeave it because joke WMG entries are fine and always have been. That's why it's Wild Mass Guessing.
Edit: Unlocked this after PM discussion. I overlooked that the concern was less about jokes and more about meta entries.
Edited by GastonRabbit Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. Here's the old ATT on the matter that I believe was the precedent for disallowing meta.
We removed the Mulan WMG that "This film is going to be the beginning of the end for the Disney Live-Action Remakes line, at least where wide releases are concerned." That was clearly an attack/complaint about the work.
Joke WMG is fine, and the Mufasa examples aren't as blatant complaints. But how can we tell/define if it is meant as a good natured joke or is stealth bashing? Poe's Law is a thing a I don't recall seeing any WMG about the works reception that isn't meant to bash? (And I don't think those who treat it in good faith would wildly guess as opposed to legitimately believe it would be sucessful.)
Also it doesn't give any reasons for the guess which doesn't seem like it's made in good faith.
It just felt that the highest grossing film thing was a sarcastic remark and Sherlock Gnomes was too random a comparison to be serious. That’s why I felt they weren’t in good faith.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.I don't see a problem here, either. There's no rule against joke WMGs.
Sherlock Gnomes was too random a comparison to be serious
Yeahhhhhh... you haven't spent much time on WMG, have you? There's no such thing as too random on WMG. It's... one of the reasons I keep away from that part of the site. It's a complete free-for-all.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Right. While we do want to avoid meta theories, these ones are clearly jokes. WMG is under no obligation to be serious.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI already pointed out that being random and non-serious is perfectly fine for WMG entries, and that's why it's Wild Mass Guessing. I reopened this thread because the concern was regarding meta entries, not joke entries.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. If they're too meta then I'm fine with cutting. Just unclear if their joke nature can give them some leeway
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessWith how divisively received the Lion King remake was and, from my own experience seeing people being skeptical of the Mufasa film being a financial success on the Box Office reddit, I think there's a not insignificant change that the "The film will become the highest-grossing film of all time" is stealth bashing/hoping it will fail so that can be quick to say Jossed if it doesn't happen.

I found the WMG page for Mufasa: The Lion King and the entries there seem quite unserious to the point of feeling like trolling.
