Webcomics about games and gaming culture. Most of these are about videogames, as comics focusing on RPGs tend to fall into fantasy or Sci Fi.
Common tropes of the genre are Two Gamers on a Couch, RPG Mechanics 'Verse, and Deep-Immersion Gaming.
Please note Fan Webcomics taking place in video game universes do not count, unless video games are explicitly acknowledged.

- +99 Reinforced Wooden Stick: A newbie in an MMORPG upgrades a simple stick into an impossibly strong super-weapon, and goes amok on the players that mocked and abused him, as well as anything that gets in his way.

- Two Gamerz: A comic about a high-school club of four guys who basically discuss anime and video games.

- The 3 Little Princesses: A comedic comic where Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, and Rosalina have a sleepover.
- Five Color Control: A Magic: The Gathering webcomic.
- 8-Bit Theater: A now-concluded Sprite Comic loosely based on Final Fantasy, which along the way has referenced table-top roleplaying, comic books, and, of course, console RPG tropes. Cast includes the psychopathic Black Mage, unscrupulous Thief, Munchkin Red Mage, and sword-obsessed Fighter. Recently been adapted into videos under the name 8-Bit Theatre Chaos, which can be found here.
- The 10 K Commotion: A completed webcomic about two teams (and their members) competing within a DDR tournament.
- Adventurers!: Webcomic that takes place inside of a console RPG, and spoofs RPG tropes mercilessly. It eventually developed a real storyline without losing its humor. It's had its Grand Finale and no longer updates, but makes for a fun Archive Binge.
- The Adventures of Captain Starshield: A short prequel comic set within the Ratchet & Clank universe made to tie into the then upcoming game in the series, Ratchet: Deadlocked.
- Adventures of the Links: Sprite Comic following the antics of numerous video game protagonists when they're all forced to undertake a quest together. A Sequel Series is in progress.
- Aetheria Epics: Styled after the JPRG genre (specifically the 32-bit era), this webcomic allows readers to vote on character attributes and decisions. Takes place within the multifaceted world of Aetheria, where genres overlap and anything is possible.
- The After Subtract
- An American Nerd In Animated Tokyo: A basic gaming comic that follows the story of an American gamer living in Japan, which is based entirely in RPG format. The series parodies many Japanese Role Playing Games, anime, and other videogames.
- Angband Tales From The Pit: Follows the adventures of Explorington III, a valiant @ in the ASCII dungeons of Angband. Bitter, cynical and just plain weird. And that's just the hero. A liking for, and knowledge of, the Roguelike genre of games comes in handy when reading this three day a week strip.
- Angry Birds Holiday Comics: A promotional comic for Angry Birds Seasons.
- Another Gaming Comic: A comic primarily about Dungeons & Dragons, and the interactions between the players and the DM.
- Another Videogame Webcomic [1] - Written by Phil Chan and drawn by Joe Dunn of Joe Loves Crappy Movies, this strip satirizes videogames by adapting the Animated Actors trope to the medium.
- Ansem Retort: Takes the characters of Kingdom Hearts and throws them into a reality show, wherein murder, government corruption and absurd references are commonplace. Absurd fan fiction is a very loose way of describing it.
- AskMat2 - A Tumblr askblog webcomic set in Mattwo's nexus universe with multiple now-defunct spinoffs. While not strictly about gaming, it and its spinoffs are primarily created in Garry's Mod and videogame related content appears frequently.
- Ask Equestria BLU Team - An Ask a Pony blog based on the popular Crossover concept between My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and Team Fortress 2 that was spun off of AskMat2.
- Awkward Zombie: A webcomic about various games, mostly pointing out Fridge Logic in series including Pokémon, World of Warcraft, and The Legend of Zelda.
- Bits And Bytes: A webcomic about a restaurant that canters to video game characters and the craziness the staff have to deal with in serving them.
- Black Ward: Empty Chambers: an interactive horror comic and spiritual successor to Silent Hill 2. Black Ward updates daily and uses comments as Adventure Game style prompts to move the story forward. The story follows Amnesiac Hero Callahan Westchester as he makes his way through the dark and mysterious ‘Black Ward’, searching for his brother and encountering twisted monstrosities.
- Blow The Cartridge [2] - Name an old video game, the artist will make a comic about it. Primarily focused on retrogaming titles found on the Commodore 64, Super Nintendo, Genesis etc.
- Bob and George: Not the first Sprite Comic, but the first popular sprite comic. An Affectionate Parody of the Mega Man (Classic) games, at first.
- Bomberman Land Parody: A random crack comic about the characters of Bomberman Land doing absurd things. It's about the only fan related stuff to find Racer Bomber
- Brawl in the Family: A gag-per-day Affectionate Parody of Nintendo games, mostly Kirby.
- Bring Dice And Chips
- Sea3on: A continuation of Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM).
- Bytes of Life: A gag-per-day Affectionate Parody following Kakujo; his baby daughter, Ilia; and their interactions with various characters from the video game world; Mostly Nintendo's.
- Captain SNES: The Game Masta: A very, very complicated and very, very funny webcomic set in the universe of Captain N: The Game Master.
- Cardboard Crack: A Magic: The Gathering fan comic
- Castlevania RPG: About the wanderings of three fan-made traveling companions named Darkmoon (a reformed vampire), Katrina (a catgirl and mage) and Alec (a paladin); who partake in several humorous and random quests over several plot threads that take place in an expanded Castlevania universe. Many characters from the actual Castlevania games make frequent appearances, as well fan-made characters and characters from other video games. Some of the more popular characters have been blessed with their own plot threads.
- Chainmail Bikini: A comic by the creators of DM of the Rings that ended prematurely due to website failure. It follows the exploits of a group of gamers playing a fantasy tabletop RPG, alternating between in-universe and out-of-universe perspectives.

- The Chosen Four: A comic retelling of EarthBound (1994).
- The Church Of Gaming: A religious joke involving a cult dedicated to Video Games that quickly became a series of stories and a comprehensive multi-verse.
- Clockworks: A steampunk/fantasy adventure that's also a Savage Worlds campaign.
- Clueless Hero: A gag-per-week webcomic about overall gaming culture and video game tropes, usually revolving around "Clueless Hero", a fictional RPG video game franchise.
- The Cobra Days: The adventures of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater's Quirky Miniboss Squad when they were fighting for the Allies during World War II.
- Coffin Comics: Gaming and Geeking webcomics about video games, science, movies, and other nerdy stuff. Updates MWF.
- Company0051: A Fan Webcomic of Master Chief during a military leave between Halo 1 and 2.
- Concerned: the Half-Life and Death of Gordon Frohman.
- Consolers: A comic about personified video game companies parodying various events relating to the game industry like gaming news, game history and various fun facts.

- Critical Miss: A webcomic hosted at The Escapist about a game reviewer.
- Creatures of Zenith: A webcomic featuring the antics of the characters from both the NES Godzilla Creepypasta and the game that inspired it, Godzilla: Monster of Monsters!.
- Crystal Fighters: A webcomic about a Magical Girl-themed virtual reality game which is meant to be a cute, family friendly game that rejects violence in favour of having the players befriend their enemies. However, a number of players have set up an underground fight club within the game.
- Ctrl+Alt+Del: Two Gamers on a Couch-style comic, with a surreal background bordering on Magic Realism. It's been adapted to an online Animated Series.
- Cuanta Vida: A well-known Team Fortress 2 comic told by a BLU Spy.
- Webcomic/D20monkey: A comic about tabletop gamers and their misadventures. May include Santa Claus.
- Dating a Team Magma Grunt: A webcomic about the main character of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire dating a Team Magma Grunt.
- Dark Legacy Comics: A mostly gag-per-week comic based around a World of Warcraft guild.
- Darkmoon's Silly Web Comic: The less well-known sibling of Castlevania RPG, by the same author.
- The Daily Blink: A gag-a-day comic about World of Warcraft, with a satirical focus on the fan culture surrounding the game (and the official forums in particular).
- Demolition Squad : German webcomic sort-of about two gamers, really more a slice-of-life with characters who play games on and off the computer at various times
- Distortion Nuzlocke: A Nuzlocke adventure that's an allegory for a boy's shattered life. The Pokemon aren't real, but the consequences are.
- Does Not Play Well With Others: Contains both RPG and MMORPG strips.
- Dont Look It Sucks: References Diddy Kong Racing, Super Smash Bros. and others.
- The DOOM Army [3]: Billing itself as "the RPG webcomic nobody reads", it's a console RPG parody in the style of Adventurers!! and RPG World. Updates are... rare.
- Dork Tower: Hapless gamemaster Matt and his gaming circle. And a muskrat.
- Downlovable Content: A story of a Gamer Chick and a strange artificial-intelligence creature who inhabits her computer and transports her into a digital MMO-like World of Funny Animals.
- Dragon Spooker Born: A Russian webcomic that casts an unabashed and self-admitted Expy of a certain anime magician girl as the fabled Dovahkiin of Skyrim.
- Drunk Duck Poop: Taking its name from YouTube Poop, is a (mainly Sonic-related) sprite comic in a world where all game characters live close enough to go up to each other and have really random conversations. It can be found here.
- Dueling Analogs [4]: Long-running commentary in the vein of Penny Arcade and VG Cats. The comic's own characters are secondary to the characters of the games themselves. No true set format as comics, animations, and custom games can all be presented as the main content.

- Dungeons & Denizens [5]: An RPG Mechanics 'Verse Work Com revolving around monsters operating and maintaining a dungeon for Dungeons & Dragons adventurers.
- Earth Bound Legends (Oh, and Poo): A Sprite Comic about EarthBound (1994). Still in its infancy.
- Erin Dies Alone
- Every Button Hurts the Other Guy: http://everybuttoncomic.com/ A parody of fighting games revolving around the misadventures of a trio of martial artists who find themselves caught up in the absurd schemes of various supervillains.
- The Everyday Antics of the Tenno: An on-going series of Warframe-themed comics about the Tenno as they go through their lives "protecting the balance" as they shoot people, pillage resources and blow crap up.
- Fanboys: The story of two men and one woman that are fans of different systems. Lemmy likes his Nintendo games. Sylvia is an Xbox junkie. Paul is a Sega fanboy turned "PlayStation" fanboy. Also notable for undergoing a dramatic quality shift from "yet another gaming comic" to "genuinely funny comic with occasional gaming references" after being criticised on Something Awful.
- Fallout New Mobius: A fusion of Fallout aesthetics and Sonic the Hedgehog lore in an Interactive Comic style.
- Final Blasphemy: A Massively Multiplayer Crossover Sprite Comic about friends from Earth who are trapped in the world of video games. The main character, Dave, finds himself drafted to save the multiverse from an unknown threat. Meanwhile, his friends discover they have powers of their own. And not only are there tons of characters, there are loads and loads of subplots connected to them...
- Final Fantasy VII: The Sevening is an exaggerated Affectionate Parody of the classic RPG that we all know and love.
- Final Smash! is a weekly Super Smash Bros. comic that mainly focuses on character interaction and the idiosyncrasies of the game.
- Flintlocke's Guide to Azeroth: a World of Warcraft comic about a Dwarf fighter who think of himself as a powerful hunter goes on crazy adventures to find the Ultimate Goblin Engineered Weapon. The main character is Improbable Weapon User to the max. End, rebooted once with 2 strips and abandoned. Currently there is a sequel series Flintlocke Vs. The Horde, which is a Perspective Flip focusing on a Role-Playing Orc who swears vengeance on Flintlocke's party for killing his NPC father. The author has since accepted a position at Blizzard Entertainment to make actual content for World of Warcraft and the story has since been finished, ending with The Horde winning.

- Fuzzy Knights: A comic which was originally intended as a one-shot parody of Knights of the Dinner Table with plush animals. However it was surprisingly popular, leading to a full series and even it's own pen and paper roleplaying game.
- Gamecheetz: A Massive Multiplayer Crossover sprite comic with its own complex timeline and mythos.
- The Gamercat: A comic about a cat that loves to play video games. Contains several affectionate parodies.
- Gamer Chicks
- GG-Guys!: A group of gamers get in to odd situations as they parody different games. Quite Odd.
- Gold Coin Comics: A comic that parodies RPG video games, specifically. Follows the RPG Mechanics 'Verse format. Features original characters as they travel through lands with the typical quirks/flaws of the RPG genre. Also sometimes features strips based on actual video games, such as Final Fantasy.
- Gone To Ground: A Warhammer 40,000 webcomic, focussing on an Imperial Guard unit.
- Grand Blues!: A webcomic Yonkoma comedy spin-off for Granblue Fantasy mainly about running gags, character exaggerations, as well as lampshaded and deconstructed tropes.
- GU Comics
- Hejibits: A webcomic that describes and sometimes lampshades video games and their tropes, but a about a third of it is the author complaining about his annoying roommate in a humorous fashion.
- Hiimdaisy: Pronounced "Hi, I'm Daisy". Summaries of games put to comic form, including Persona 3 and 4, Metal Gear Solid and the Ace Attorney series. Well worth a look, especially the audio adaptations that can be found on YouTube.
- Indie Game Comic
- In Wily's Defense: A completed Sprite Comic built on the concept of what would happen if Dr. Light and Dr. Wily switched roles, and quickly develops its own mythos involving a lazy-as-hell God and his Angels of Love, Death and Destruction. Also included is its short-lived sequel, Tales of Southtown.
- Jailhouse Blues: An uncompleted Sprite Comic hosted on the Bob and George website where Mega Man ends up in prison, having to deal with Wily's makeshift Robot Masters
- Jinx [7]: A one-shot 70-Seas side story that parodies The Legend of Zelda series.
- JumpHero: A story about a superhero who’s tasked to save a certain princess who gets kidnapped every other day. Unfortunately, he hates her and anything to do with being a hero.
- Katamari: Continues the misadventures of the Prince and his friends from the quirky Katamari Damacy series.
- Kid Radd: A Pixel Art Comic that masquerades as a Sprite Comic. The Player Character from an old video game is released from the game when its ROM is put online, and must adjust to life outside. Sounds generic? It's actually extremely emotionally moving. Finished, but there are several hundred comics to read.

- Knights of the Dinner Table (often abbreviated KoDT) is an ongoing comic series about a group of Tabletop RPGers.

- Larry Leadhead - this webcomic is about actual wargaming with models on a table-top and the strange people who participate.
- The Last Days of FOXHOUND
- Le avventure del grande Darth Vader, an Italian webcomic about an emulation geek who goes by the nickname DARTH VADER.
- Learning with Manga! FGO: A completely deranged take on the Fate mythos disguised as (and initially started out as) a simple humourous how-to-play guide.
- A Legend Of Some Sort: an Affectionate Parody of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and other games.
- Legend Of The Hunter: An Interactive Comic about two brothers searching for a powerful demonic weapon.
- Level 30 Psychiatry
- Life of Wily: Loosely based on Mega Man with at least one occasion of Final Fantasy IV characters showing up as well.
- Lotus Cobra Is Evil, a webcomic about Magic: The Gathering.
- Mage & Demon Queen: A fire mage seeks to conquer the Demon Tower and reach Queen Velverosa at the top. Not to kill her, to marry her. Set in a world that is not an MMORPG, but operates by most of an MMO's standard rules, such as respawning after death.
- Magience: a webcomic about a MMORPG that may be more than a game.
- Manly Guys Doing Manly Things: The MANLY protagonists of various video games put their asskicking skills to use in various part-time jobs.
- Mario Adventures: A demented and hilarious webcomic starring characters from Super Mario Bros. that plays out less like a traditional webcomic and more like a western cartoon show.
- Mega Man Dissonance: A Mega Man (Classic) Sprite Comic that acts as a Fan Sequel.
- Megaman Sprite Comic: An intentionally terrible Sprite Comic with loose canon basis in the various Mega Man games.
- Metroid: Third Derivative: A Metroid Sprite Comic and pseudo-Fan Sequel to Metroid Prime 2: Echoes which was created long before any notable information was released about Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Samus Aran has traced the Phazon to its source planet and she travels there to eliminate the source of Phazon once and for all.
- MS Paint Adventures: A webcomic in the style of old Graphic Interactive Fiction Games, there is one game currently "beaten", one in progress, and two abandoned, which are Problem Sleuth, Homestuck, Jailbreak, and Bard Quest respectively. By the end of Problem Sleuth, you will shed a single tear embodying the diverse emotions of joy, sorrow, anger, and laughter at what happens. The surrealism may cause some readers to become confused, so not recommended for everyone.
- MS Paint Masterpieces: A Mega Man (Classic) Sprite Comic. It starts out with a short attention span and a strange sense of humor. By strip 150 or so, it Grows the Beard into something that actually makes sense of Mega Man's bizarre plot, with the high stakes balanced by character-based humor. Unfortunately suffers from frequent Schedule Slips.

- Nerf NOW!!: A webcomic that generally has strips or story arcs based on Team Fortress 2, but that is not what it is solely based on. Has lots of Moe. Also did other games like Starcraft II.
- Nintendo Super Squad
- Nodwick: By Aaron Williams, the same author as PS238. Focuses on what can only be called a misadventuring group in a fantasy world based loosely on Dungeons & Dragons settings.
- The Noob: Yet another gaming webcomic, which sets itself apart from most others by focusing almost entirely on parodying MMORPG games.
- Nosfera: A parody of Castlevania.
- Not a Villain (website): As the author puts it: A reformed hacker, an addictive virtual game, can she stay honest?
- NPC Comic: What happens when a NPC gained the ability to move and talk on his own? A lot of chaos. It's right here.
- Nuzlocke Comics: This comic retells the author's playthroughs of Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Fire Red. The site also hosts a number of fan-made Nuzlocke comics, which can range anywhere from the Tear Jerking to the downright silly, and everything in between.
- Paper Mario And The Ever Clear Night: A comic written by gestaltScribbler, based on the universe and storytelling of the Paper Mario series.
- Osterreich Uber Alles: An After-Action Report for Victoria II drawn with Polandball art
- Overly Gamey: Parody of game mechanics and player behavior in videogames and boardgames.
- Pebble Version: Parody of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. Has a lot of Lampshade Hanging with regard to Pokemon tropes.
- Penny Arcade: Satire and comedy webcomic about two gamer friends. It is considered the prototypical Two Gamers on a Couch comic. Easily one of the most successful webcomics of all time, fully supporting its creators financially and having spawned its own twice-annual con and video game series.
- Persona 2 Win: The fourth series in the Persona for the Win series of webcomics from Strain 42. This time focusing on both sides of Persona 2.
- Persona 3 FTW: An Affectionate Parody / Lets Playesque comic covering the game Persona 3. It's pretty funny.
- Persona 4TW: The sequel to the high-ranking webcomic on The Duck, Persona 3 FTW, covering the events of Persona 4 in a similar format.
- Persona 4TW Add-On: The sequel to the above sequel, covering the events of Persona 4: Arena in Strain42's usual comedic style.
- Persona Won: A prequel to the above Persona comics, focusing on the PSP Enhanced Remake of the original Persona game.
- Player2: A gaming webcomic that involves humor usually based on Minecraft, Pokémon, and many more.
- Play Nintendo Comics: A series of official gag comics by Nintendo used to promote new games.
- Pogeymanz: A sprite comic (mainly hosted on Smack Jeeves) which uses the Pokémon universe as a basis. A satire with a silly outer layer. Go to the article for more info.
- A Pokemon Journey: Exactly What It Says on the Tin
- Pokémon-X: A Sprite Comic based off of Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire (and later Emerald), it follows an Idiot Trainer named Brendan and his Pokerus-infected Poochyena/Mightyena named Rocky.
- Powerup Comics: A Stealth Parody of the Two Gamers on a Couch genre, it intentionally straddles the line between So Bad, It's Good and just plain horrible.
- PvP: Gag-a-day and arc-based comic about the lives of the staff of the gaming magazine Player Versus Player (PvP).
- Rare Candy Treatment, a Pokemon Web Comic.
- Realms Of Ishikaze, a Deep-Immersion Gaming comic where everything in the game is player-created.
- Reeltz Gamez [8]: This is a new comic about video games, Role playing games and humor.
- The Reset Button [9]: An all-ages comic about video game characters going to school.
- Return to Player [10]: After the first playthrough of a Gods' imposed MMO on the world, one person hopes to change things for the better.
- Robert Lynchs Heroes Inc
- Rooster Teeth Comics: name taken from synonyms of "cockbite," the series centres around the cast of red vs blue and gaming news (among other things...)
- RPG World: A spoof on RPGs in general, with references to games like Final Fantasy and Zelda. Starts off rather silly, but evolves into a strikingly good story. Abandoned, but still a good read.
- RPG World: Fan Revival: A fan revival of the comic above, that continues the story immediately where the original left off.
- Rusty and Co.: An party consisting of an easily-distracted rust monster, a talkative mimic, and the most badass gelatinous cube in history go on adventures.
- Sandsday [11]: Two Gamers on a Couch. It's basically that simple. Written by troper Morgan Wick.
- Sara And David [12]: Follow the humorous journey of Sara, David, and their friends, as they navigate through their lives of gaming, aliens, demons, love and much more! Created by Alexander Aberle.
- Secret of Mana Theater
- Series 9 [13]: A sprite comic hosted on Smack Jeeves that is produced by Midna, and quite possibly the first sprite comic to use exclusively Mega Man 9 sprites. Involving the daily life of Mega Man, Roll, Proto Man, Dr. Light, and the MM 9 bosses (they're all DRNs, after all), it features Magma Man as a strange combination of a pyromaniac, The Ditz, and a Cloudcuckoolander, an Author Avatar as an omnipotent spirit, and Light as the resident The Ditz, among others. Tries to update daily, but has occasional Schedule Slips.
- Servants of the Imperium: A comic set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, following a team of Inquisitorial agents.
- Shredded Moose: Better not read this comic if you're offended by misogyny.
- Silent Hill: Promise: a Silent Hill fan comic that attempts to create a fully fledged Silent Hill "game", using the faux Adventure Game style of MS Paint Adventures.
- Smaaaash: A comic about a wide variety of games. Has no update schedule. Also includes Survival Mode, a series about Super Smash Bros. characters stranded on an island.
- The Sliding Scale Comic: A gaming webcomic about RPGs in its infancy.
- Smite: A webcomic telling the tales of the Gods participating in the game against a nefarious plot and Bad Future.
- Snafu Comics [14]: A website that features some video game related webcomics such as the King of Fighters Doujinshi and Snafu Comics. It is also home to popular webcomics such as Powerpuff Girls Doujinshi, Grim Tales from Down Below, and Sugar Bits.
- Sonic and Pals: A webcomic parodying Sonic the Hedgehog. [Not Safe for Work Safe For Work]] as it doesn't contain any swearing and suchlike. Updated daily.
- Sore Thumbs: Political/gaming comic.
- Super Effective: A Pokémon webcomic by the author of VG Cats.
- Super Mario Adventures Cont'd: Slice of Life comedy stories starring the Mario characters drawn in the style of Super Mario Adventures. Can be read here
- Systems of Entertainment: A Metroid / Super Mario Bros. crossover, in its infancy. Samus Aran is thrown into Princess Peach's position, as part of something only Bowser seems to understand.
- Table Titans is a mix of this and Deep-Immersion Gaming, focusing on a D&D part in and out of game. It's a spinoff of PvP.
- Tales from the Pit is an interesting case: it's about creating a game. Specifically, it's written by the head designer of Magic: The Gathering, and it spoofs the daily life of the creators of Magic.
- Tales of Elysium: A Pokémon Mystery Dungeon-inspired webcomic.
- Teh Gladiators: A WoW webcomic about a Ragtag Bunch of Misfits who fight in Arena matches... and find spectacularly improbable ways to win. Has recently branched out into the Wrath of the Lich King plot line and a hilariously wacky made-up version of Cataclysm.
