The Irritated Gamer is an Irate Gamer parody who, similar to the Third Rate Gamer and the Save State Gamer, is a satire of the various flaws of the Irate Gamer.
All of his main reviews have been compiled into a single video for viewing pleasure here.
This series provides examples of:
- Bad "Bad Acting": Naturally, although he has admitted in the commentary for his Castlevania review that his monotone way of speaking early on wasn't intentional."It has a good lesson, interesting plot, and when I read off a list, I have to talk like this!"
- Later-Installment Weirdness: His later reviews tend to have him on-camera a lot more often, as opposed to his earlier, primarily voice-based reviews.
- Take That!: The driving premise of the whole show.Irritated Gamer: That game just has "ass" written all over it. ("Chris Bores" is scribbled over the cover to Link to the Past)
- Toilet HumorIrritated Gamer: Castlevania II? More like Castlevania Poo!
- Special Effects Failure: Parodied in his Batman/MegaMan dual review, where he chucks a cartridge at a light switch (i.e. holding it up to the light switch and playing a crashing sound effect).
- Stylistic Suck: The show is an intentionally bad parody of The Irate Gamer with bad research and low production values.
- Verbal Tic: In his commentary for his Castlevania review, he admitted that he wasn't even aware of Chris' verbal tic of using "actually" until a commenter pointed it out to him. He proceeds onto discussing Chris' overuse of "buddy" and his numerous complaints about games giving him "vertigo".
- Vocal Evolution: His voice sounds more lively and higher-pitched compared to his aforementioned way of speaking in his first review.
