- Alternatively, these standards will get mercilessly mocked.
- Possibly Jossed; Rob Paulsen has confirmed that the show will keep its adult humour.
- Now partially confirmed, at least in the first season: Minerva Mink appears only in episode five, in a non-speaking role, and Hello Nurse has joined Doctors Without Borders.
- Harry Potter, with a subtle jab towards JK Rowling herself.
- Confirmed. The Warners kids push Harry over in episode 1, but they didn't make fun of JKR.
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
- Dark Souls
- Final Fantasy
- Fortnite
- Donald Trump.
- Confirmed, a cyclops that looks like Donald Trump was in the recent trailer.
- Joe Biden.
- Not likely, since the show was written in 2018. Future seasons, perhaps.
- My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and/or bronies.
- The Furry Fandoms
- Cartoon reboots/remakes and/or their Hate Dom.
- Confirmed. There's a whole song dedicated to reboots in the first episode, and more subtle jabs in later episodes.
- Marvel Cinematic Universe — or since this is Warner Bros., the DC Extended Universe.
- Shared Universes in general.
- Social media.
- Pokémon, what with it being the reason the original series was cancelled and all.

- Disney — specifically, their acquisition of Star Wars, Marvel and Fox — portraying them as a MegaCorp. This would veer into Biting-the-Hand Humor territory since Disney recently acquired Hulu.
- A Star Wars parody would be the sequel to Pinky and the Brain's "Star Warners".
- Phineas and Ferb — Pinky and the Brain form an alliance with a Doofenshmirtz stand-in in order to take over the world, only to be foiled by a monotreme secret agent.
- Frozen — Dot, dressed as Elsa, sings a parody of "Let It Go" that takes multiple jabs at the popular Disney franchise.
- CoCo
- The Star Wars Sequel Trilogy

- John Kricfalusi, what with how he anonymously attacked the original series in Wild Cartoon Kingdom magazine.

- The Office (US)
- Brooklyn Nine-Nine
- Stranger Things
- Sonic the Hedgehog (2020) — i.e. the fan backlash/resulting media circus concerning Sonic's initial Unintentional Uncanny Valley design.
- Probably not so much given how the redesign and film itself have been well-received and successful. There may be a wink or nod, though, especially given how it brought Sonic back into the public eye for the first time since the 90's—the era all the Animaniacs themselves came from, no less.
- Steven Universe
- Story-driven cartoons of the 2010s/2020s in general like Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Infinity Train and The Owl House.
- Probably wouldn't be much harsher than Affectionate Parody, seeing as how it's not like the writers actually dislike story-driven cartoons or everything "the kids" are into these days, it's just not what they do.
- Story-driven cartoons of the 2010s/2020s in general like Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Infinity Train and The Owl House.
- Netflix — They'd have so much fun ripping Cuties apart.
- Big Mouth
- Super Smash Bros.
- Rule 34
- Shipping
- Fanfiction
- Rick and Morty — The Brain declares Rick to be his Archenemy while Pinky turns himself into a pickle.
- Or assuming they don't go that far, the show will be offhandedly mentioned during the Are You Pondering What I'm Pondering? gag.
- The recent advent of LGBT+ content in animation — particularly Voltron: Legendary Defender's infamous attempts at it.
- Same as the story-driven cartoon example above, it wouldn't be against LGBT+ content animation in general, just bad or awkward attempts at it that sometimes fall into the queerbaiting category.
- Kingdom Hearts
- Sam & Max
- Crash Bandicoot
- Cool Cat Saves the Kids — An Expy of Cool Cat himself will replace Baloney.
- SuperMarioLogan
- It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
- Minecraft
- BoJack Horseman — In particular the show's depressing nature, Anvilicious messages, and writing style that is seemingly pre-prepared for quote mining.
- Family Guy — It helps that Wellesley Wild, a former FG writer and producer, is already on board.
- SpongeBob SquarePants — Come on, it's a Long Runner Cash-Cow Franchise that's pretty much everywhere. It'd be a surprise if it wasn't referenced in some form note .
- Danganronpa — Which is conveniently also on Hulu.
- Reality Shows
- Merchandise-Driven preschool shows. In an episode, the Warners are forced to sell out and star in an "educational" preschool show where they push their merchandise at every turn.

- Covid-19
- This one is impossible, as again, the show was written in 2018. However, unnervingly enough, the show did predict people would have to stay inside and wear masks during the next two years.
- Shantae, if only as an excuse to bring Minerva back.
- Cells at Work!
- Arrowverse
- The Amazing World of Gumball
- Shrek — Particularly its huge popularity on the internet.
- Yakko, Wakko, and Dot vs. a Miranda Sings clone. Sort of a modern take on "Lookit The Fuzzy Heads", with a Take That! on 25 years of bad pop music.
- 2010s Meme Culture
- The Great Wakkarotti performs "Never Gonna Give You Up" in the ultimate Rick Roll.
- Barney the Dinosaur - If the upcoming movie being produced by Daniel Kaluuya shall be of any note, this may be the show's best chance to bring back Baloney.
- As evidenced by the episode description of "Of Mice and Memes", I'd say this is just about confirmed.
- Not to mention how the internet is seemingly destroying the English language (e.g. "bae" instead of "babe", misuse of "fail" over "failure").
- Not true. The show has aired on Teletoon, a Canadian animation station, as well as having later releases on DVD, as well as digital platforms such as iTunes and Amazon Video.
- Paulsen will indeed be voicing Yakko and Pinky. It was confirmed in October 2019.
- Semi-confirmed. The first trailer (beyond the sneak peek parodying Jurassic Park) does take some time poking fun at reboots, but rather than mocking their clichés it sees the Warner Brothers dissing reboots and then getting a huge check for their own reboot.
- And then followed up with a throwaway Take That! line to The CW.
- Semi-confirmed. Buster and Babs make a cameo in ""Suffragate City", but have no lines.
- They could even go one step further and bring Histeria! into the mix. And everyone would have no idea who these random kids are.
- Maybe Road Rovers, Detention, and ¡Mucha Lucha!?
- The episode description for the pilot seems to imply the opposite, actually. Namely, the Warners coming back to the water tower and Warner movie lot after so many years.
- Confirmed.
- The Warners won't be any different at all, though they will express disgust with modern culture such as selfies, duck-lips, and political-correctness.
- Pinky and the Brain will be no different, either, still trying to take over the world; one segment will have the Brain trying to take over the world using social media.
- Slappy is still Slappy, but Skippy has long since grown up and is ready to help his aunt Slappy come to terms with the modern world; of course, Slappy will just use explosives like always.
- Hello Nurse will have been fired since she got old and lost her looks and, realizing they only kept her around as eye candy, becomes a walking, talking Take That! towards Feminazis.
- The Goodfeathers have fallen on hard times ever since the crackdown against organized crime.
- Mindy has grown up, but is still mentally-disabled and needs Buttons Jr. to watch her, and it still never goes well.
- Conversely, Mindy is 25 now and a fairly well-adjusted college student, but Button's great-great-great grandson is still obliged to watch out for her (fetching her forgotten textbook, protecting her from an un-"woke", non-#MeToo compliant boor she's dating), and occasionally enjoys his own side adventures a la Perry the Platypus (including, perhaps, a run-in with Starbox's people). She's still quite unaware of his activities, and likes to calls Buttons IV a "silly puppy" in a small baby-like voice, when no one is looking.
- Runt finally figured out Rita is a cat, but he doesn't care.
- Katie Ka-Boom was committed to a psych ward, where it was discovered her monstrous side is a Jekyll and Hyde-type split personality.
- Chicken Boo is now a chicken rights' advocate who has had absolutely no luck due to the Trump administration.
- Skullhead is still demonstrating good and bad ideas. He also acts out those "How To..." and "Top Ten Reasons Why..." joke e-mails we all get in our Inbox, with hilarious results.
- Flavio and Marita are still being trailed by Gena Embryo.
- The Mime is still getting injured.
- Colin is all grown up, and so is Randy Beaman; doesn't mean Randy isn't still getting into "Shaggy Dog" Stories.
- In a weekly podcast called "Tales of Randy Beaman". Beaman eventually sues him for using his name without permission.
- Minerva Mink, after being fired for inflaming Moral Guardians, sued Kids' WB for gender profiling, but Plotz bribed the jury because he didn't want to deal with the onslaught of angry phonecalls from parents anymore; Minerva has been spending years trying to fight societal norms about appearances, but unfortunately for her, Keeping Up with the Kardashians happened and set her efforts back; as of 2020, she is still fighting for her right to be herself without being targeted by Feminazis like Hello Nurse.
- Plotz is long-dead and has been replaced by a CEO who grew up watching the original Animaniacs episodes, so she releases the Warners from the water tower over Scratchansniff's objections; she ends up enjoying the Warners' antics.
- Baloney, after his show ended, has been forced to make ends meet in a deli. He now regales visitors with fun songs and tales of his show. He’s also growing feathers now.
- The showrunners and voice actors have said that if the reboot gets renewed for more seasons, they will attempt to bring back the other supporting characters (including Hello Nurse, Minerva Mink, the Goodfeathers, Slappy & Skippy, Mindy & Buttons, Rita & Runt, etc.).
- Maybe Ryan Reynolds would be a good replacement?
- It seems Dot's new celebrity crush is a No Celebrities Were Harmed version of Tucker Carlson named Tuck Buckerson, as she's flirting with him in two different episodes.
- Dr. Scratchansniff, in keeping with how he Took A Level In Jerk Ass, will probably join forces with Plotz.
- Or Tom Ruegger will get his wish and Hello Nurse will become the new studio CEO, replacing Nora Rita Norita, giving Norita Laser-Guided Karma for her Female Misogynist attitude. And Norita, wanting revenge on Hello Nurse, will join forces with Plotz.
- Chicken Boo, Elmyra and Pepé Le Pew will both team up with Plotz for reasons.
- Also the battle with Plotz will be a parody of the final battle in Avengers: Endgame
- Hello Nurse was given a few mentions and references throughout Season 1, having joined Doctors Without Borders according to Scratchansniff. If she does show up, she will be reinvented, focusing more on her Action Girl traits, perhaps even Took a Level in Badass. The catchphrase always said towards her will be said differently - a character calls for medical help and goes "Hello, nurse?" - or she humorously cuts them off if it's about to be said in the usual manner. And the other characters will start referring to her by her real name, Heloise Nerz.
- Slappy Squirrel could be another great forerunner; a skit will involve her struggling to use modern technology and longer being allowed to use explosives (like how Elmer Fudd can no longer use guns), much to her ire.
- The Goodfeathers, being GoodFellas parodies, would seem out-of-place and dated in today's culture. But this could allow for some great Lampshade Hanging, perhaps having them go up against modern crime groups. They also have a new recruit: the pigeon from The Cutening.
- The Buttons and Mindy segments will have more Throw the Dog a Bone moments for Buttons. It will be less mean-spirited than the originals and Buttons will receive more happy endings for his efforts in protecting Mindy instead of just being the Badly Battered Babysitter who is faulted for the slightest missteps, similar to what is seemingly being planned for Dr. Scratchensniff. Plus continuing from Wakko's Wish, Mindy will call her parents "Mom" and "Dad".
- Chick Venerra, the voice of Pesto and the Godpigeon, sadly passed away in mid-2021. So those two will certainly need a new voice actor should the Goodfeathers play a part in the reboot.
- Jossed when Sherri Stoner returned to play Slappy in Season 3.
- We've seen Skippy in "Good Warner Hunting", looking exactly like he did in the 90s. So it's safe to assume that part is jossed.
- Of course, earlier in that same sketch, Skippy was also shown to have his head mounted on the wall, only to show up fine and dandy at the aforementioned ending, so it's not like the writers are above throwing continuity to the wind in favor of whatever's funniest.
- It could turn out that this was Skippy Jr. the entire time, bearing a Strong Family Resemblance to his father as a kid. Skippy himself will appropriately be voiced by the now grown Nate Ruegger.
- Jossed. Slappy's return was a cameo, and Skippy was neither shown nor mentioned.
- Plotz was later found out, which lead to him being fired from Warner Bros. and incarcerated for his crime. This of course will tie in to the theory of him being the Greater-Scope Villain.
- He killed them using the Dip.
- And it'll probably be spent beating up Chicken Boo.
- The episode in question will probably address the fact that most of the original show's staff wasn't invited back for the reboot (with the original cast as stand-ins for the original staff, naturally), as well as Tom Ruegger's own complaints about the reboot in general.
- With the likelihood of the other original supporting characters returning in future seasons, it would make sense to bring back the other lyrics mentioning the other characters.
- Also with the rest of the original cast returning, the line after "Wakko packs away the snacks" will become "Our old friends have made comebacks" as the camera pans out to show the Warners and the returning characters together.
- As another Author's Saving Throw, "Dot has wit" will be changed back to "Dot is cute" and "You should see our new contracts" will be changed back to "We have pay or play contracts". Scratchandsniff could also be added back in "So just sit back and relax, you'll laugh til' you collapse" instead of Ralph, since he was already introduced in the season finale.
- When the characters sing "We're animany, totally insaney", all the old and new series regulars (Yakko, Wakko, Dot, Dr. Scratchansniff, Hello Nurse, Ralph, Thaddeus Plotz, Nora Rita Norita, Ms. Flamiel, Mr. Director, Pinky, Brain, Bobby, Pesto, Squit, the Godpigeon, the Girlfeathers, Slappy, Skippy, Walter Wolf, Sid Squid, Beany Bison, Stinkbomb D. Bassethound, Mindy, Buttons, Rita, Runt, Minerva Mink, Newt, Flavio, Marita, Gina Embryo, Katie Ka-Boom and her family, Mr. Skullhead, Colin, the Mime, the Flame, Charlton Woodchuck, Baby Bluebird, Starbox, Cindy and the Gnome) will be seen together singing the lyric like in the original show.
- This show gets away with a lot of things, but it still won't get away with everything. So it's likely Minerva's Ms. Fanservice role will be toned down. Not absolutely depleted (it was the main point of her character after all), but not as prominent either.
- They might also make her personality more goofy and lovable, similar to Lola Bunny in The Looney Tunes Show.
- This probably depends a lot on what the culture at WB looks like once all the studio shakeups are done. Warner Bros Animation itself as it has been probably doesn't have a problem with them, they use Red Hot Riding Hood plenty. If the people that want present day WB looking more like 90s Turner, they'll probably be fine if maybe a little tweaked. Should WB go more (insert your word for those people here) style thinking they may be left behind outside of small cameos or namedrops. We aren't going to know for sure until that culture is set in full and Production Lead Time catches up.

- Katie Ka-Boom will finally face the consequences of her destructive rage and her family forces her to seek anger management counseling with Dr. Scratchensniff, at which point the Warners show up complicate matters for them both.
- The Hip Hippos are labelled as "unhip" by a Hipster and try to follow his trendy lifestyle. They eventually end up in a zoo enclosure as the hipster is revealed to be Gina Embryo in disguise, finally one-upping the hippos in this master ploy to capture/protect them.
- Even Mindy's parents could be called out for their Parental Neglect/Obliviousness and treatment of Buttons.
- Or at least Tom Rugger, along with some of the original writers, will join in the production.
- The Elmyra spinoff of the original show might not be canon, but an upcoming episode could have Pinky waking up Brain, who was screaming in his sleep. Brain tells Pinky that in his horrifying dream Acme Labs blew up and the two of them wound up as pets belonging to a stupid, annoying girl. Pinky retorts by telling Brain that this is the worst idea he's ever come up with.
- This lead to them teaming up and decided to plot revenge on all Warner Bros. They will also join forces with Mr Plotz
- Confirmed and jossesd in "Yakko Amakko", as Pepe Le Pew made a surprise appearance, but only for a cameo just to be erased.
- Jeff Bennet
- Jim Ward
- Brian Tyree Henry
- Chris Evans
- The series would be rated TV-14 Or TV-MA due to her sexual appearance.
- Wilford B. Wolf will be her husband, and in his hunk form permanently.
- Minerva and Wilford will have children of their own.
- Newt would serve as the main antagonist of the show.
- Trudy, Minerva's best friend will make an appearance, along with her cousin.
- Other mink Characters from the Animaniacs comics would serve as secondary, or recurring characters.
- There would be a lot of sexual content.
- Alternatively, he will show up in non-villainous roles as well in disguise when the viewer least expects it, similar to Egwin periodically popping-up in Pinky and the Brain segments.
- He will also go beyond human disguises and also disguise himself as other animals/objects. I can already imagine him impersonating Foghorn Leghorn.
- As mentioned on the Trivia page, both Ruegger and Stoner hated the fact that the original show's characters were shown to have been hunted down and mounted by Chicken Boo in the aforementioned episode, with this being the reboot's explanation for why they've been absent from the reboot despite the fact that the episode's ending reveals that the other characters aren't dead. Naturally, if either one of them manages to join the team working on the reboot in the later seasons, they would most likely approach this episode the same way they would approach Pinky, Elmyra & the Brain: complete and utter removal from the continuity of the series, most likely coupled with their own explanation on why the characters from the old series haven't had any significant appearances in the reboot up to that point. Of course, this would also result in any plans the current staff of the reboot have regarding Chicken Boo going the Aborted Arc route, so it's unlikely that they'll be able to completely disregard the events of the episode, but they will almost certainly make sure that the part about Chicken Boo successfully hunting down the other characters never happened.
- Confirmed. Slappy makes her grand return in the final season, but she's revealed to be retired to Pensacola and doesn't seem to mention the events of "Good Warner Hunting". So either it was subject to Canon Discontinuity or Chicken Boo was taken care of offscreen before everyone went their separate ways.
In Good Warner Hunting" we learn that Chicken Boo, disguised as Walter Grubb, has been hunting down Animaniacs characters. But for some reason, doesn't go after Pinky and the Brain, despite them being the second popular characters on the show. However. If you look carefully, you can see similar-looking mouse characters on his wall. My guess is that these are decoys that Pinky and The Brain used to trick Grubb (Boo) into thinking he's captured them.
Both Katie Kaboom and Chicken Boo are infamous for being the unpopular with fans. Even Yakko insists Boo is the least popular, Katie seems to be the real most hated character in the show. It's possible the writers weren't sure who was less popular, so they wrote "Good Warner Hunting" with two possible endings, the ending we got now and an alternative one where Katie Kaboom, after being told she can't be in the reboot, would be the one to burst out of the costume in one of her monster forms.
This could also explain why we don't see Katie in Grubb's trophy collection. The background for that episode could have been designed before which ending was decided, so the artists had to leave out both Katie and Chicken Boo to take both possibilities into consideration. It could also explain why Grubb had tiny feet despite Chicken Boo having big chicken feet, because they could have been Katie's tiny girl feet. Of course, Grubb has a big butt, something Katie doesn't have but Chicken Boo does.
- The reason Chicken Boo was ultimately chosen could be because he is known for wearing human disguises - the Walter Grub costume seems like a massive step up from his Paper Thin Disguises in the original show - and so he fit the role better. You could say he say he was more suited for the job!
- Also, if Katie Kaboom had been picked, the show would have invoked her Rule of Three angry statement. Walter Grubb would say "If I can't be in the reboot, nobody can!". He would them say it again but with an angrier voice and his eyes would start glowing. The third time Katie would say the line in her demonic voice whilst tearing off the costume.
- There's also a third possibility: Miles Standish could have been Walter Grubb! He's pretty close in size and hunting for trophies definitely sounds like something up his alley. That's why he is seen amongst the other characters in the final version of the episode.
- Of Course, he doesn't join the mob of angry toons chasing after Chicken Boo, because he would rather plot his revenge on the Warners, which he did in episode 13 of the reboot.
- Jossed: The beautiful timelapse outro remains the same, but at least it will tug on heartstring for Nostalgic fans.
- Jossed: The Warners watch a PSA starring themselves and Dot yells at her brothers for not being a part of the solution.
- Jossed: Who's up for another beautiful timelapse sequence of the Warner Bros. Studio?
- Jossed: At least we still see some sentimental moments with the Warners in the season, like when Yakko and Dot embraced Wakko in a group hug◊ after saving him from getting hacked.
- Confirmed.
- CONFIRMED. The season finale ends with Ralph becoming the new CEO of Warner Bros, with Yakko, Wakko, and Dot feeling troubled about their sudden turning point in their already intense new life.
- Confirmed.
- The story arc can follow the Warners on a journey to various locations, outside of the studio, as they try to learn more about their family tree, and the subplot will have, as always, Pinky and The Brain trying and failing to take over the world, as well as Ralph getting used to being the CEO, and Nora planning her revenge against the Warners.
- Jossed. Apart from "Season 3 and WB," all of the episodes are self-contained.
- Or better, all three siblings would have the last line!
- Jossed. No one has the last line, since all of the characters died at the end of the show.
- Hello Nurse could still return and become the new CEO, resulting in Norita wanting revenge on both Nurse and Ralph.
- Except that the Warners aren't related to Ralph - Nora is. Her own grandmother chose Ralph to be the new heir instead of her, which will make the whole thing all the more personal.
- Jossed. Nora only serves as the villain in "Season 3 and WB."
- Jossed.
- Jossed.
- And it will be revealed that all those characters were previously fired by Nora Rita Norita.
- Jossed.
- And Nora Rita Norita will be demoted to security guard and start plotting evil schemes to try to get rid of them both.
- Half-confirmed, half-tossed. Hello Nurse doesn't return, but Nora does become a security guard briefly.
- Jossed. He's a Pointy-Haired Boss through and through.
- Confirmed in "Season 3 and WB."
- Jossed.
- Confirmed.
- CONFIRMED: This tweet from the show's Twitter page announced that it's third season will be the last.
- Nora would be arrested for attempting to overthrow Ralph as CEO as well as trying to kill the Warners for revenge.
- Jossed. They don't change at all.
- Jossed.
- Jossed. The reboot ends with a Downer Ending wherein the Warners are all killed off for good.
