Trivia / LoadingReadyRun

  • Acting for Two: In the early days of LRR, Graham and Paul were the only actors, so inevitably they both played multiple characters in the same sketch.
    • In the LoadingReadyRumble — a battle royale of characters from past sketches — twenty-five characters were played by seven people.
    • In RapStar 64K, out of the eight cast members, only two play a single character each.
  • …But I Play One on TV: Friday Nights viewers have often assumed Nelson is the owner or manager of Yellow Jacket Comics and Games, the local game shop the crew attend Magic events at and a central location for Friday Nights. In truth he's just a normal employee, but one who's more available and willing to be involved in filming during shoot hours.
    • Nelly himself did this when he saw the "It's Magic!" episode of commodoreHustle, which featured Alex doing several sleight of hand tricks to cheat at Magic. After it aired, he pulled Graham aside and asked him if he needed to keep an eye on Alex for real, not knowing if it was something he'd actually pull during a game night.
  • Corpsing: Many examples.
    • In their very first video, Graham messes up one of his lines, causing Paul to start laughing. For whatever reason, it wasn't re-shot, but it did fade into a different shot, presumably to allow them to regain their composure.
    • During some of their pre-Escapist videos, such as Morgan's Problem, there was a stinger involving one or more of the crew Corpsing.
    • The Phailhaus's signature cutaway style frequently allowed for somebody to tell a really bad joke, then cut to a different story before the other hosts' laughter got too loud. It was fairly common to see them start laughing though.
  • Defictionalization: "Clickquest", shown in "The Grinder", can actually be played at http://www.clickquest.net. It went offline for several years, but was revived and is currently playable again.
  • Real Song Theme Tune: The primary LRR theme song is the bridge of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" from the PC game The Sporting News Baseball. More of the song can actually be heard in the Who's on First?-inspired sketch "It's Very Simple".
  • Suppressed Mammaries: Kate did this in Rapidfire 3, Episode 5, so that she could play Bob Ross.
    Kate Stark: NEVER AGAIN.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The original idea for LoadingReadyRun came from Graham and Paul wanting to go backpacking through Europe and record videos of the experience. They figured no one would watch those videos if they didn't already have an audience, so eventually they put together the website and started uploading their weekly sketches. Years later, their site has ballooned into a whole company, and they still haven't gone backpacking through Europe.
    • In Road Quest Beej wanted to drive an RV or sleeper van to match the other teams' ridiculous choices, but couldn't find one in budget that could pass inspection.
    • The cold open for the Commodore Hustle episode "Back from the Past" (the first episode released since the COVID-19 pandemic) was written in early 2022, and the crew intended to start producing more shortly thereafter. However, that was also around the time Graham started feeling ill and soon had to enter treatment for cancer for most of 2022. As such, the episode didn't come out until October 2023.
    • After Wizards of the Coast cancelled Friday Nights, the crew intended to produce more episodes themselves in 2020 - and again, the pandemic put a stop to that. Plans to make more have been pushed back repeatedly due to COVID, Graham's cancer treatment, and other behind-the-scenes issues. Graham has stated that they do plan on making more episodes, hopefully in 2024, as they also miss making the series. As of January 2024, a Kickstater has been made to fund a new season.
