The Balding Chronicles (TBC for short), is a blogging channel dedicated to sharing the wacky life experiences, anecdotes, and general thoughts of its creator. Opened in late October 2023 by a guy named Alex (who mostly uses the same username as the channel instead of his real name), the channel's content focuses on a mix of gameplay and voice-over commentary. Expect to find a lot of self-deprecating, beyond brutal, cringeworthy, and occasionally flat-out offensive stories straight from the life of a man with an ever-receding hairline.

- Beware the Silly Ones: In the video Encounters of the 4th Kind - Strange Apecel Sighting. Despite his friendly and goofy demeanor, the twist at the end reveals that Van Guy was actually a wanted criminal who had attacked a woman and escaped from a mental institution prior to his encounter with TBC.
- Not Quite Saved Enough: Played straight in Brutal Halloween Experience, Returned to College, Kentucky Fried Disaster, when TBC's tutor requires him to sit in the front row.
- Exactly What It Says on the Tin: The channel's name gives the viewer a good idea of what kind of stories they should expect.
- Exhaustion-Induced Idiocy: Of the delusion kind. In Hallucinations, Gaslighting, Anti Compliments, Helicopter Parenting, TBC recounts a story of a supposed paranormal encounter with a girl similar to Matilda Wormwood, alongside other weird phenomena. It turns out his sleep deprivation caused the visual and auditory hallucinations.
- Giant Spider: While in his paranoid and sleep-deprived state, TBC's room was taken over by a large spider. It was big enough for him to compare it to those featured in the film Eight Legged Freaks.
- Pesky Pigeons:
- The pair of pigeons that steal TBC's Coronel Meal at KFC are the textbook example of this trope. Their hungry look is enough to make a grown man leave the table he is sharing with TBC upon realizing they are about to pounce.
- The pair of birds cause an embarrasing scene by spilling gravy all around the table and into his clothes while everyone is watching.
- Stock British Phrases: TBC's videos contain many examples of this trope.
- Too Old to Trick-or-Treat: Parodied. After TBC comes home on Halloween, his mother, knowing he is too old and asocial for trick or treating, tasks him with handing out candies for children.
- It's the Only Way: Played for Laughs in Brutal Halloween Experience, Returned to College, Kentucky Fried Disaster. While narrating his plan to get out of the task of handing out candies to annoying children, TBC invokes the trope.TBC: There was only one possible escape. There was only one conceivable PATH out of this... And that was eating the fucking sweets. Because if there are no sweets, then nobody can get a fucking treat.
