Trailers Only
- The first trailer:
- Getting a movie was always Robin's dream, seeing that it's the one way to be seen as a real hero. And his team appear dressed as Wonder Woman (pictured on the right). With their reasoning being that Wonder Woman actually inspires people while they... do not. Robin just gives up and tells Narrator Guy to continue the trailer.
- Also, the ending of the trailer:
- Official Trailer #1:
- The teaser for the trailer had the Titans read comments about their film, which are about as positive as you would expect.
- The extended version of the trailer has this gem at the end, during the car chase:
Batman:(coming out of the exploding Batmobile and on a Batcycle) I'm Batman!
Starfire throws a blast at him, only for Batman to come back with a Batscooter
Starfire throws another blast at him, Batman still comes back with Batskates
Starfire: Ooh, there is no stopping the Batman.
- In the film proper, there's no dialog, but the joke continues after the Batskates with Batman piggybacking Alfred.
- "It's time to DRAIN THE POOL!"
- One poster shows Slade partaking in the heinous act of... bootlegging a movie!
- Even better, he's holding the camera up to his blind eye.
Movie (Warning! Unmarked spoilers ahead!)
Right now,
Plastic Man is the happiest superhero on the planet.
- The Titans are insulted that Balloon Man thought they were the Justice League.
- The Titans then try to tell him who they are... in song form! Cue Balloon Man becoming confused as the Titans are dancing in front of the "audience" and continuing his rampage.
- Starfire asks the Justice League if they ever had their own films before:
- Oh, and for clarity, this film's Green Lantern is John Stewart, and that film's Green Lantern was Hal Jordan, portrayed by Ryan Reynolds.
- Superman explains that the Titans are seen more as Designated Heroes rather than real heroes. Cyborg tries to prove them wrong.
Superman: That wasn't even a crime and you didn't save anything!
Cyborg: He doesn't think we saved anything! We saved room for dessert!
(Cyborg raises the roof as the other Titans celebrate)
- The Bait and Switches in the movie trailers, despite what it eventually leads to.
- Coming This Summer: Alfred: The Movie ("The Ultimate Grime Fighter).
- Coming Next Summer: Batmobile: The Movie.
Announcer: A new hero will light up the night. It's... THE CAR!
- Coming Next Next Summer: Utility Belt: The Movie.
- The fact that Batman's utility belt gets more respect than Robin is enough for a few laughs.
- The fact that it's done in the art style of Batman: The Animated Series with what sounds like a Michael Caine impression makes it even funnier.
- The funniest part? All of the Titans save Robin are excited to see those films.
- The Titans talk about what makes a hero aside from having a movie. One of these conditions includes having an arch-nemesis with a name that's fun to say dramatically.
- "Oh, right -- portal!" The Brick Joke occurs when Slade's Giant Mecha is too big for the portal.
- Atom as an Iron Butt-Monkey:
- Robin while piloting Cyborg's body jumps out of the sky to avoid getting shot by Slade and makes a dramatic superhero landing onto the ground as he escapes the explosion. After Slade manages to escape, Robin gets scolded by Cyborg who's body did not escape the explosion as smoothly as he did.
Cyborg: Aw, man! I'm never letting you fly my body again! (right arm falls off)
- Slade's Take That, Scrappy! to the Titans at the climax.
(Cut to Beast Boy and Cyborg dropping their waffles angrily.)
- Somehow, the Challengers of the Unknown become bigger butt monkeys than the Titans themselves.
Starfire: That is the obscure!
- Slade's response to the guards at S.T.A.R. Labs telling him the Justice League will stop him.
Slade: [menacingly] The Justice League aren't coming. (
he walks into the next room, only to stick his head out a second later) Because they're watching a movie, and as considerate moviegoers, I'm sure they would have turned off their mobile devices. (
he looks and points toward the audience)
Unlike some people. - And almost immediately afterward, he calls the Titonium crystal "the perfect plot device!"
- The Teen Titans initially mistake Slade for Deadpool when they finally cross paths with him. And it frustrates him. A lot. You know, because Deadpool is a Marvel property. And he came first. And Deadpool used to be a ripoff of him. This is the first real appearance of the infamous Teen Titans antagonist, and they did not miss a beat with the opening punchline.
- Cyborg also asks Slade to "look into the camera and say something inappropriate".
- Continuing from the dramatic name discussion above, the Titans are really impressed with Slade's name. And continue to say his name dramatically throughout the film. And at the climax, after Robin exposes Jade as Slade in disguise, the other DC superheroes are impressed and say his name dramatically too.
- The aptly named Upbeat Inspirational Song About Life ending with the Titans running over the track's singer, Tiger, and then ditching the scene and the car with Raven's portals.
- The Titans walk in on Jade filming Part 2 of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Batman and Superman instantly become friends over their mothers' names being Martha. Then they go back to fighting when they realize their FATHERS have different names!
- Stan Lee makes his usual 'subtle cameo' (complete with a huge neon sign and arrows pointing at him) before being told that he's in a DC film, resulting in him leaving. He ends up coming back a second time, however, because he LOVES doing cameos!
- The Titans decide to go back in time to prevent the origins of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and even four turtles about to walk into some mutagen. When they return to the present, they see that the villains have taken over, so they have to undo everything they did... which includes causing Krypton's destruction and literally shoving Thomas and Martha Wayne to their deaths... NOT without happily giving Martha THE pearl necklace.
- Even better is that Robin was the one who pushed Thomas and Martha. And a young Bruce saw that. No wonder he hardly acknowledges Robin.
- On their first trip through time, Cyborg pointing out the sheer Too Dumb to Live-ness of the Waynes walking home at night through a place literally called Crime Alley, which is currently filled with not just a lonesome Joe Chill, but a bunch of cartoony mobsters firing tommy guns at each other. Starfire instead directs them down "Happy Lane" right next to it, a bright and colorful street that is inexplicably full of sunshine in the middle of the night.
- It gets even better when you remember that, in some incarnations, Crime Alley was renamed to that after the Wayne murders, but here? It was apparently just always called that.
- Krypton's destruction is averted by the Titans playing techno-rave music on some crystals. Baby Kal-El dances along to the music, even removing his diaper and whipping it around above his head like an overly-enthusiastic fan at a rock concert.
- They undo Aquaman's origin by trapping a baby Arthur Curry in a plastic six-pack ring, and undo Wonder Woman's by stealing the Lasso of Truth, which a young Diana was using as a jump rope. Resetting their origins are as simple as cutting the rings with scissors and returning the lasso to play jump rope with young Diana. Funny and quite adorable, in the latter's case.
- Note that they fixed Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Batman's backstories, but not the turtles! They just pulled a Ret-Gone on "Truth, Justice, and What?"!
- "Where are we supposed to find Libyan terrorists to sell us plutonium at this hour?"
- In the bad reality, Lex Luthor is seen making other people as bald as he is. It's pretty hilarious to see one of the most prolific Evil Geniuses essentially becoming a Hair Hunter.
- Even better if you remember what his original origin story was: he was once friends with Superman until the hero accidentally caused him to go bald in the process of saving his life, causing him to declare Superman his archenemy.
- Also in the Bad Future, Sinestro is chasing people around with a Pac-Man construct, and Joker and Harley are in a hot air balloon dropping giant cartoon bombs randomly on the city. Despite all the destruction around them, Robin's biggest concern?
- The Titans go on their film set and see Slade, so they proceed to beat him up. Turns out it's not him, but an actor, and it's Shia LaBeouf (not actually voiced by him, though).
- In the same scene, everyone except Robin poops in the prop toilet. Every time this is done, Beast Boy and Cyborg play a techno song on speakers and yell "THEY POOPED IN THE TOILET!" over it.
- As Robin starts his "My Superhero Movie" sequence, Jade looks almost confused over what is happening as he starts singing. Remember who her voice actress is and said actress' most popular animated role.
- At the WB studio lot, the Titans (sans Robin) want to feast on the Justice League's catering, but it's zealously guarded by Superman. How do they get rid of him? Cyborg calls his cellphone, pretending to be Lois Lane. What's more, he BUYS it, and starts flirting. Still, Superman isn't sure to leave the table unguarded. Beast Boy takes over and shouts Gene Hackman has trapped her in a real estate scheme. Superman blasts off! When he comes back later to try and stop the Titans, they handily defeat him with a "Kryptonite Party" and kick him offscreen after pummelling him a bit.
- After they gorge out on the food, the Justice League find out as the Titans hid. Green Lantern then suggests stealing food from the Spider-Man set.
- Robin's reaction to the "Kryptonite Party" when he and Jade walk in on them.
- The Titans manage to defeat Slade using a Triumphant Reprise of their theme song from the beginning of the movie. When Slade emerges from the wreckage of his Giant Mecha, what's the first thing he says?
Slade: That song was... monumentally dope. (faints)
- Robin tries to expand on his Aesop so kids can have something to talk to their parents about. However, everyone keeps telling him the movie is over and people want to go home, complete with everyone chanting for the credits to start. As Starfire starts the credits, Robin runs out what he was going to say, so he grabbles to the screen and says this:
Robin: Kids! Ask your parents where babies come from- (Credits sequence begins)
- And on the matter of the end credits, watching Slade of all people dancing around when Will Arnett's name appears is pretty funny.
- Robin's The Lion King-based dream.
- What Slade plans to happen when he enslaves the world: people will rob banks for him, build monuments of him, and pick him up from the airport on short notice.
