Croco the Crocodile is a series of a self-written and self-drawn comic book made by troper Counter Blitzkrieg when he was a kid (with the help of his little brother). The books follow the format of the Italian Disney comics with some long story arcs and some short story which only took a page. Though unlike the Disney characters, the Croco comic characters are not too anthropomorphic which was shown at their lack of bipedality. A large inspiration of the story is derived from the Italian-made Disney comics, Pokémon, Winnie the Pooh and the old Silver Age Superhero comics before it got Darker and Edgier.

Most of the story is set in the islands of Animalia in the country known as the Animal Republic. The major islands of these are Bermuda and the aptly named Animal Island. Geographically, the republic is located in what in the real world as the British Bermuda. The animal republic contains many different sentient animals who lived in there; whales, sharks, dinosaurs, penguins, walruses, and many more. The capital of the republic is Crocville, which made the crocodilian city (and the crocodile species) to be an important part of the country.

Our main character Croco Gator is only a middle school crocodile student living in Crocville, Animal Republic. However, he is secretly a superhero known as Super Croco. He also has a brother tank (yes, tank) named Tanky who is secretly Super Tanky. He also has a best friend named Cradi, who is secretly Super Cradi. The trio formed a superhero group known as Team Croco. As the story progresses, team Croco continues to grow as they recruit many more animals into the rank. However, they also unwittingly created their own Rogues Gallery as they continue to fight more villains.

While Croco and his friends are the focus of the story, some stories focus on the other characters. These characters may or may not be a crocodile.

Has its own character sheet.

Tropes:

  • Action Girl: There are some female Team Croco members. The most notable is the turtle Kukurara.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Some stories focused on characters other than the Team Croco trio.
  • Bash Brothers: Croco, Cradi, and Tanky; who formed the original Team Croco.
  • Big Creepy-Crawlies: Centa, a giant centipede who joined Team Croco.
    • Some of the animals in the Crocville Zoo is also this, like the giant tarantula that Cargo dealt with.
  • Black-and-White Morality: Team Croco is pretty much good while the villains are evil. The villains that are not really evil usually makes a Heel–Face Turn.
  • Butt-Monkey/The Chew Toy: Cargo, where things for him always go wrong.
  • Cardboard Prison: The bad guys are always thrown to jail every time they are defeated. However, they are bound to appear again in the next few pages, or the next book at least.
  • Child Prodigy: Stego, who is still a kid but has his own secret laboratory and his intelligence may rival that of Buyno.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: Many of the defeated villains were recruited to Team Croco.
  • Divergent Character Evolution: Croco and Cradi started out as two generic crocodiles who are virtually indistinguishable in both appearance and characterization. Then Croco started to become more of a Standardized Leader with elements of The Ace while Cradi became more of a Boisterous Bruiser with elements of Leeroy Jenkins and a Butt-Monkey if Cargo wasn't around.
  • Dub Name Change: It was originally written in Indonesian, it was rewritten to English and there are some name change:
    • Croco Buaya to Croco Gator
    • Pausi to Whaley
    • Kukurara to Turtley
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: The early stories have elements of Where the Hell Is Springfield? regarding the location of Crocville.
  • Easily Thwarted Alien Invasion: Averted in the "History of Crocville" where the Martians invade Animal Republic. There was a huge war which lasted years before the Martians were thwarted.
  • Fantastic Racism: Averted despite a huge potential for such a thing.
  • Fantasy Kitchen Sink: There are the Greek Gods, Santa Claus, God, Aliens in Mars, and Bionicle-esque aliens from another galaxy.
  • Framing Device: The "History of Crocville" stories are told in this format by a history-teacher as a story to Croco's social studies class.
  • Funny Animals/Civilized Animals: Played with. The animal characters have some human traits but also still have many animal traits. For example, they are not bipedal like humans, but they do talk like humans and have human thinking processes. They also generally eat food that are more fitted for their species (e.g. meat for crocs, vegetables for stegosauruses.)
  • Home Base: The Team Croco secret base inside the Ice Mountain in Penguintown. It is also where the members of Team Croco who are full type Superhero make their residence.
  • Interspecies Romance: Whaley the Blue Whale is married to Sperm Whale.
  • Lethal Lava Land: The Center of the Earth.
  • Loves My Alter Ego: A platonic example. Richie doesn't like Croco but he admires Super Croco to the point that he made his superhero identity as Rich Super Croco.
  • Meaningful Name: Most of the characters have names that indicates what species they are.
  • Oblivious Adoption: Tanky, a tank is a son of two crocodiles and has a crocodile brother. Yet, no one really brought this up.
  • Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: Averted with the Pirate Crocs. They are the Pirate villains who continually raided coastal cities on Animal Island and Team Croco must continually stop it.
  • Playing with Fire: Lava Croc.
  • Police Are Useless: Zigzagged. Sometimes the police are incapable of doing anything and required Team Croco's help. Other times the police are a great help to the team and can even serve as a Supporting Leader.
  • Power Trio: The main Team Croco team
    • Id: Cradi
    • Ego: Croco
    • Superego: Tanky
  • Reference Overdosed
  • Rogues Gallery
  • Secret Identity: Most Team Croco members has it.
  • Sentient Vehicle: Tanky.
  • Shock and Awe: Crady has electric theme super powers.
  • Shout-Out: A lot.
    • Some of the called attacks, are Pokémon moves: Extreme Speed, Thunder Bolt, etc.
    • The "Plane Battle" contest, has a Makuta-type Captain Ersatz who brought the Team Croco trio to an island that resembles Mata Nui.
    • The "Online Game" story where the team Croco trio played an online game where the worlds and levels are based on the LEGO toyline of the X-Pod.
  • Status Quo Is God: Pretty much averted. One example is where Cargo lost his job in an insurance company and then he became a zookeeper.
  • Superheroes Wear Capes: The standard uniform for Team Croco is a mask and cape.
  • Tap on the Head: Both heroes and villains are knocked out a lot and yet neither have any kind of permanent noticeably damages.
  • Thou Shalt Not Kill: The Team Croco members never really kill the villains, only rendering them unconscious and throw them to jail.
  • Token Human: The Bad Bandits, are the only humans on this story, they are a Beagle Boys-esque bandits.
  • Write Who You Know: Croco and his little brother Tanky have a rather good relationship with each other to the point of being best friends. That's because the writer has a similar relationship with his little brother.
