Civilian
Jiron Amos
- Voiced by: Shinya Otaki
The main character, who left on a journey to avenge the deaths of his parents.
- Blue Is Heroic: His first machine, the titular Xabungle, is colored blue.
- Calling Your Attacks: Gives names for simple attacks like punches, just so he could shout them.
- Chick Magnet: Elchi and Rag falling in love with him quite early shows that Jiron is absolutely this.
- Combining Mecha: Both Xabungle and Walker Gallier are combined from two separate machines.
- Gonk: He isn't really ugly but Jiron still stands out for not being very attractive compared to the typical Real Robot protagonist.
- I Always Wanted to Say That: Apparently always wanted to call out attack names.
- Mid-Season Upgrade: Goes from Xabungle to Walker Gallier. In fact, he's the first Real Robot protagonist to get a completely new machine later on within their series.
Elchi Cargo
- Voiced by: Mari Yokoo
Daughter of the trader Carrying Cargo, Elchi didn't have any interest in her father's job and instead was more focused in spreading culture, like dances, around Zola.
- Brainwashed and Crazy: Gets brainwashed into joining the Innocent later in the series.
- Innocent Fanservice Girl: Apparently no one ever taught her how to sit in a chair while wearing a skirt.
- Last Girl Wins: She's the last of the 3 main girls to meet Jiron, and the one who he ends up with.

Leader of the Sand Rats.
- Action Girl: Be it on foot or piloting a Walker Machine she will not doubt to join the fight.

- Voiced by: Toshio Furukawa
Dike
- Voiced by: Keisuke Yamashita
Fatman Big
- Voiced by: Banjo Ginga
Elchi's servant always following her.
- Ironic Name: He's much more muscle than fat.
- The Quiet One: He barely talks at all, and the few times he does it's borderline Hulk Speak.
Kotoset Memuma

Birn
- Voiced by: Satomi Majima
Maria Maria
Innocent
Timp Sharon
- Voiced by: Banjo Ginga
A Breaker working for the Innocent, he's the man who killed Jiron's parents.
- Arch-Enemy: Jiron considers him this for killing his parents.
- Not So Above It All: Unlike the other Breakers Timp is usually pretty dangerous and portrayed as a serious threat but even he isn't above the show's slapstick from time to time like him accidentally swallowing his cigar and burning his throat. And in more than one battle he's smacking Jiron around and dramatically putting the show's hero in a bind only to slip and end up falling on his face and deflating the tension completely.
Kidd Hoora
- Voiced by: Issei Futamata
- Hopeless Suitor: No matter how much he tries, Elchi makes it clear he's not her type.
Geraba Geraba
- Voiced by: Tomomichi Nishimura
- Number Two: He's Hoora's right-hand man, referring to him as "Aniki."note
Kashim King
- Voiced by: Kenichi Ogata
- Big Bad: The Innocent leader most responsible for the problems within the series.
