Alas, it is not a movie about the Hey Arnold character.
Jokes aside, is this Dev Patel's writing and directorial debut?
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. This guy was in Thr Last Airbender as... google search... Zuko. Hm.
The poster gives the same kind of energy of a John Wick poster. I honestly thought this was in the same universe before I read the post. The iconography feels similar.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Ending my sabbatical to say that this is the sort of original movie people need to support and to put up the link to the page here.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Ok just saw the trailer and yooooooo
That failed leap from the window was priceless.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Mate, he's been in a LOT of critically acclaimed films. He was in Slumdog Millionaire and The Green Knight.
The fight choreography in this trailer has me hooting and hollering. I never would've expected this from Patel but looking at his early life section on Wikipedia it looks like he's been practicing Taekwondo for most of his life. Sign me up.
I posted about this in the chatterbox. That trailer has me hyped, but that seems to be the case for just about everyone that sees it. I'm glad Peele stepped up to get this a theatre run, rather than it releasing to what probably would've been zero or near zero build-up on Netflix, where it would've been drowned out by all the other releases.
Holy tits of Freya that looks friggin' amazing. The main guy is like an Indian John Wick.
And man that fight choreography... preem as fuck. Definitely gonna be seeing this.
(4) Heard of the first and never saw the second.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Dev Patel and Jordan Peele are two names I never expected to appear together.
This should be interesting.
Never have I thought that Dev Patel would make a directorial debut with Jordan Peele producing his movie, let alone make an action movie and star himself as the main character. Take my money.
“What is that? It's The Unknown!”It premiered at SXSW last night. And got a standing ovation. Very excited.

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire. From what I heard, Dev Patel broke his hands, 2 toes, tore his shoulder and got an eye infection during the whole filming. A very painful filming for Dev, but worth it the end.

Better not make a repeat, though. And if he decides to make another action movie, better take better care of the actors.
Wake me up at your own risk.Eh I don't know about that.
If this movie sucked it's very likely that would've been used to mock him.

Luckily that won’t be the case. It’s at 90% on Rotten Tomatoes with 21 reviews.

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Wait... this ISN'T a movie about the Giant Monkey Man from the Ninth Dimension that Patrick wants to beat?
Robin: Don't ever ask me to dock with you again. Serious...A second trailer just dropped:
This intense, guy dramatically coming back into his gritty profession style premise we've been getting from this, AAA, John Wick, and Extraction is getting addictive.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Patel had an AMA on Reddit and the production sounds troubled as hell.

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Man, to have the tenacity of these guys…I think I would've pulled my hair and rage quit after the first half of all that stuff.
And this was almost a Netflix movie.
Thank the gods that Jordan Peele saw it and wanted to give it a theatrical release!

I’m probably gonna snag a ticket as soon as my local theater has them for pre order.
Anyone wanna help me draft the Troubled Production entry for the trivia page?
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.I'm not normally a big fan of John-Wick-style action films... but this trailer fascinates me.
A trailer for Dev Patel's directorial debut dropped; it's been pitched as "John Wick in Mumbai." It will release on April 5, 2024.
It was originally going to drop on Netflix, but thanks to Jordan Peele, who saw the film early and loved it, it will get a theatrical release.
