Got a specific example in mind?
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.the DMC reboot comes to mind which is funny as Capcom does a lot more American/multicultural themed games then other japanese devs.
After 10 year plus years I have the confidence to be here. Let's give it EVERYTHING we've got! It's...PUNISHMENT TIMEMicrosoft said they "Let Blizzard Be Blizzard" after the aquisition.
So much for the change in Activision Blizzard's work culture people were hoping for......But I didn't expect it anyway.
Watch SymphogearWhat we (or at least I) expected: Microsoft cleaning house and giving Blizzard a chance to escape being Overshadowed by Controversy.
What we got: Microsoft letting them have free reign to keep repeating their abuses.
I don't have enough words to convey the sheer amount of anger and disappointment I have.

"That we continue to persist at all is a testament to our faith in one another."Microsoft! You were supposed to be the chosen one!
Help me. I can't get it out of my head. Why did anyone expect Microsoft to redeem Blizzard?
They won't care as long as none of the bullshit actually stops anyone from buying Blizzard crap.
Disgusted, but not surprisedConsidering they did nothing to help Redfall or Starfield be better games, I wouldn't expect them to do much with Blizzards work culture to begin with.
Watch SymphogearI mean, I was kinda hoping that they'd realize that all the scandals Blizzard's been dealing with is terrible for both PR and workplace morale, and so they'd boot out the offenders or at least restrict them heavily.
"That we continue to persist at all is a testament to our faith in one another."They'd only care about that if it actually affected sales and stock price.
Disgusted, but not surprisedDude, what the hell?
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.self-thump

It's one thing to make a spectacle. It's another to make a difference.Don't engage, just holler the mods.
Anyway, here's a brief bit from the vgc article:
The "she" in the quoted bit is executive producer of World of Warcraft and Blizzard VP Holly Longdale.
Basically, Microsoft hasn't been making any demands of them creatively. They're just letting them do what they were already doing.
Honestly, if Microsoft was forcing Blizzard to make changes like taking harassment more seriously, I doubt she'd have mentioned it if she wasn't specifically asked about that in the interview.

Disgusted, but not surprisedHow's "Letting Blizzard be Blizzard" working out for you, Microsoft?
Watch SymphogearAt some level, I think it WILL blow over. They just need ONE good and big hit and they'll be the Golden Child again. It's a thing I've noticed with gamers is that they well and truly DO NOT CARE how the games are made, only that they get made and are good. The horrific human cost is just the offloaded price of admission.
That totally depends on their capacity to make another good game. Which isn't looking likely between their general output and known work culture.
Also, at least four other video game companies are physically nearby Blizzard's campus. One of them (Sega) even unionized recently. They have to compete with that, too.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?
They'll get there. It's not a question of if, but of when.
Blizzard will keep living as long as they keep WOW running, as far as I can tell. Now, how long they will be able to do that with their moronic handling is debatable.
Wake me up at your own risk. The irony is that Activision Blizzard is the only thing keeping Microsoft from turning into a software only company like Sega is now, as the actual purchase hasn't really helped move physical Xbox Units very well (In fact, Xbox hardware was down 31% last quarter even as revenue from the brand increased dramatically.)

Watch Symphogear
What ARE the odds they go software only? It would amusingly hilarious if they bowed out of the console game and threw their coin with the Big N bringing Rare back home.
I want to know what it's going to take to get people to stop giving Bethesda the benefit of the doubt.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Your honestly talking about diffent crowds of people.
The people that keep buying betsheda products actualy like them in spite of the issues, and arent giving them "the benefit of the doubt"
Like if all you want is a mod sandbox, your not getting a better product.

Er, to clarify, what I meant to say was:
Attempts by Japanese Game Companies ("devs" was probably the wrong choice of words) to appeal to western audiences often comes across to me as misguided and based on a slightly stereotypical view of westerners.
"Any campaign world where an orc samurai can leap off a landcruiser to fight a herd of Bulbasaurs will always have my vote of confidence"
