The 60's called. They're asking how dare the other decades are pointing at each other.
And for the record, the 60's are pointing out the other decades' pointing, which is different from normal pointing.

The 90s called. As in the 1890s. They want their moniker of “the 90s” back, as nobody’s called them that since Waiting For Godot.
The '20s called. They are way too busy being boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.
I actually read Morbius the Living Vampire's short stint as a superhero and it wasn't a bad storyline. Certainly, Jared Leto seems genuinely crazy enough to pull it off. I just hope he gets to sing as it because if you're going to go nuts, go nuts.
I loved Into the Spiderverse and it has more than enough Spidermen for this entire universe even if they're all animated.
But let's face it - I only care about the Black Cat movie and maybe Venom 2.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.According to Amy Pascal, Morbius has already wrapped filming...
Think we'll see something at San Diego Comic-Con? And will it be grim and gritty in that way that makes intellectuals like ourselves eye-roll in annoyance?

I don't know, I really haven't seen anything by the director, Daniel Espinosa, even though I heard good things about Life. The writers, on the other hand, are Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, who wrote both Dracula Untold and Gods of Egypt, so...this might be a trainwreck of epic proportions.
(Then again, they also co-created and wrote for Lost in Space (2018), which was awesome, so...what do I know?)
Going back to the SMUC name thing, so would that mean the participants would be called SMUCers?
All your safe space are belong to TrumpReposting from the Silver & Black thread:
Sony won't appear at this year's San Diego Comic-Con.
So we can forget about hearing anything regarding Silver & Black or Morbius on July.
Bump.
So some things have happened since the last post. Namely, how Sony yanked Spider-Man from the MCU after FFH scored more than a billion dollars.
And now, Sony announced development for a movie on Madame Web, from the writers of the not-yet-released Morbius.
Because everyone has wanted her to have her own movie!
(Seriously, this is just going to be the Dark Universe disaster all over again...)

I normally don't want any movies to bomb unless it's from someone downright despicable, but god, I can't wait for Morbius to bomb. Not because of your usual "Bring Spidey home" camp, but just because of the sheer stupidity of their ideas.
I just... a Morbius movie? A Jackpot movie? A Madame Web movie???? a character that has literally never had a ongoing series?
And truth is, it's not like they can't do a competing cinematic Universe. I think that if they would focus in a post-Spider-Man world, they have a great set of legacy characters to build up (Anya, Mayday, Miles, Kaine, Agent Venom etc.)
Yeah this is a Cart before the Horse situation all over again, its the same mess they got mired in when they finish ASM 2, they had what 3-4 'Spider Man Universe' films planned?
After seeing what he did/what happened with Joker I am frankly terrified at Leto's take on Morbius and not in the way Sony wants me to terrified.
Ooo, a Madame Web movie? Color me intrigued. I have no idea how they're going to pull that off. Presumably they'll be using the Julia Carpenter rendition since OG Madame Web is a paralyzed blind woman in a chair.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Knowing Sony, they'll find some way to fork it up...
They must've read about Kevin Feige producing a new Star Wars movie and had a panic attack, because it proves their (weak) claim that he's too busy to produce Spider-Man movies is a load of BS. This announcement is just screaming "hey, we still know what we're doing," when they clearly don't.
I think they wanted to make a Spider-Woman movie, but the actual character of Jessica Drew is owned by Marvel. Or maybe they don't want a Spider-Women (spin-off of Into the Spider-Verse) movie coming out at the same time as a Spider-Woman movie.
Jessica is owned by both, though, Disney cannot call her Spider-Woman nor show her with powers.
Disney can't call her Spider-Woman or show Spider-Man derivative powers. Which basically means the ability to stick to walls and nothing else, since most of her powers (like her entire character) are completely unrelated to Spider-Man.
What Disney can have is this: a character named Jessica Drew who is a Hydra-made Person of Mass Destruction, works as an x-tuple agent between Hydra, the Avengers, and S.H.I.E.L.D., and can fly, shoot lasers, and manipulate people with pheromone powers. Who dresses like this◊.
Sony, meanwhile, can make a character named Spider-Woman.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Sony has a new Spider-Man movie idea: Madame Web. Yes, you heard me right, the old blind version of Batman's Oracle.
It's been 3000 years…Read our previous posts in this thread.
Isn't Julia also owned by Marvel as well?
Edited by windleopard on Sep 27th 2019 at 4:42:49 AM
No, only Jess. Maybe Anya Corazon too, if some comments from Tom De Falco are true, but I doubt it.
Yes, Julia is. She has the same deal as Jessica, where Marvel can use her without any Spider leanings, and Sony can use her as Spider-Woman (or presumably Madame Webb, since I’m assuming the Madame Webb movie is about Julia and not Cassandra).

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. No, she isn't. Here's the full contract leaked a while back, only Jess and supporting characters from her are listed as being shared among both. The only other is Kingpin, only when Daredevil is involved.
Who has the rights to Ultimate Spider-Woman? Went through the document, didn't see where.
Edited by Tuckerscreator on Sep 29th 2019 at 6:52:20 AM
Julia probably isn't shared. Her powers actually are totally derivative of Peter's. Her costume is clearly inspired by the Black Suit that became the Venom Symbiote. Her character history consists of her serving as generic superhero Spider-Woman until she became Official Spider-Man supporting character Madame Web.
She's not debatable the way Jess is. I'm sure Sony has full rights to Julia Carpenter.
As for Ultimate Spider-Woman, again, I'm sure Sony has full rights. Ultimate Spider-Woman is a female clone of Peter Parker. Marvel doesn't have a single leg to stand on to try and claim that she's not a Spider-Man character.

The 70's called. They said they don't really know what's going on but they're always down for picking on the 90's if that's what we're doing. Lazy kids don't know how good they have it.
