openSci-fi book with digital copies of ancestors Literature
Chapter book for younger audience that I looked over in a library in the 00s
- Starts of the main character, a boy, dirt biking and crashing
- His mother so upset that she takes him to a place where they have digital copies of the minds of their ancestors to talk with a grandfather or older generation male relative.
- The people who looked after the place were called something like geeks or nerds and wore rainbow suspenders. Despite the name, they where honored for their role.
- The grandfather/past relative gives him a cheery speech and winks at him. The protagonist finds a message hidden the a frame of the wink.
- The protagonist recruits a computer savvy friend to help him and makes contact with the grandfather/past relative who tells him that the guy set up the digital copies of the minds has set so it edits the responses
- They confront the guy and he says that says he did it to stop "Clan Wars" and his actions were necessary to stop the cycle of violence
- The grandfather/past relative and the guy try to get the protagonist to decide who take control of the system with grandfather/past relative arguing for free speech and the guy arguing that it would lead to war.
- He puts them in a platform game-esque arena with whoever reaching the end gets control then deciding that neither should have control and putting them into a loop by sending them back to beginning when they reach the end.
- Then it turns out that it was All Just a Dream that the protagonist was having while unconscious after the biking crash at the beginning.
- After the protagonist wakes up in hospital he talks to computer savvy friend who exists in non-dream world where they make videogames suggests they could make a level that sends the player back to the beginning when they reach the end as reference to above plot point.
openBook where books travel through a wormhole to parallel world Literature
Chapter book for younger audience that I looked over in a library in the 00s
- The book starts with some boys try to make an aircraft and launch themselves over some powerlines
- They crash and somehow separated with one being taken to hospital where they are shocked he doesn't have a special "insurance".
- Other boy makes contact with a guy who tells him the that in their universe they discovered naturally occurring wormholes and the boys passed through one in into the parallel world.
- Wormholes go in time as well, there is mention of wormhole that drops into the middle of a tickle fight with The Spice Girls which has a waiting line. (thought this a pretty dated reference, even back then)
- A scientist had found a wormhole to the beginning of the universe and found that god doesn't exist. That wormhole was mentioned as being guarded so no one else which to me like trying to cover in case religious folk objected.
- Since there was no god and therefore no afterlife the people in the parallel world had the were made into Brain in a Jars and hooked up to virtual afterlife which the aforementioned "insurance".
- This leads them to set out to rescue the injured boy from the hospital and get back through the wormhole to their universe before they take his brains out.
openkorean(?) anthology film series? Film
a while ago i watched this series of movies. they were korean i think but it could be a different country. i watched it through a friend streaming them on discord. apparently there were a lot but i only watched a few. i asked that friend about the title and they just said "strange tales i think?" which gives me nothing, do you know how many tales there are bro let alone strange ones. i was wondering if someone knows these films. i remember several of the stories. spoilers i suppose. the stories between the stores were always narrated by this one old man. one of the stories involved a child praying to a shrine that she would get every question on the test right, and it comes true and warps the world around her wrong answers so they are correct, which makes havoc ensue. another story involves a character who gains a condition where they often hear music and have to act along to it, and she finds another person with the same condition. i dont remember exactly how it ended but i do remember they died because of a certain special song. another story involved a man finding a supernatural NES game, which would summon the man's childhood friend who would play the same game with him when he was young. i dont remember a whole lot about this story but i remember something about the childhood friend dying in a river on their way home. another story which i can only remember the concept of was about a world where snobby business men acted like dogs. the last story i can remember and put into words was about a story about half the length of the other ones about a golden egg. i dont remember anything else about it.
if anyone could help me find these films that would be GREATLY appreciated, they were really fun
openSprite Animation Series on Machinima about Disney Web Original
I remember in the last years (maybe even months?) of the YT channel Machinima, there was a animated sprite series that had a linear story, but was also part commentary on Disney and their subsidiaries as a whole. I remember it for a number of scenes and story elements which I will list here:
1. Luke Skywalker and Mickey Mouse being the main protagonists, with the main antagonist for the 1st (and only) season being Pinhead from Hellraiser.
2. Several Disney-owned characters get corrupted by Pinhead into their masochistic cult, like Buzz Lightyear, Ursula, and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
3. At one point, the Avengers show up, only to be unceremoniously disintegrated by a monster's blast in the next episode.
4. At one point the Enterprise shows up and someone asks "Is Star Trek owned by Disney?" and Luke answers, "No, but it seems like a matter of time".
5. The last episode they meet a hologram of Walt Disney (whom Mickey Mouse refers to as "Dad" and hugs). Also, during Pinhead's defeat, he gives a soapbox-type speech on the downfall of the Hellraiser franchise.
As you can see, it's a strange series of sorts. Can't remember what it was called for the life of me.
openWebsite for Pokémon Fan Game Idea Web Original
Trying to remember the name of this Pokemon fansite that was for a fan game; I don't believe there was a demo or anything, it was just a hosting website for someone's fan idea for a video game with chapters of a story laid out.
The 1st sprite character I remember was a recolor of Wally from Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald. Instead of his green hair and white shirt, it was recolored to give him white hair and a blue shirt; he was also renamed Simon. In the story itself, it starts with him being kidnapped by Team Rocket.
The 2nd sprite character was a Team Rocket character with the uniform, but the character in question was a little girl with pink hair and pigtails.

openA search for a show that has been ongoing for over 3 years
Hi guys, I remember a show I watched as a kid and it is haunting me. I don't have a good memory of it but I remember a specific scene.
The scene involved two characters.
One of them shot ice spikes shaped like this
https://www.pinterest.com.au/pin/355714070565309482/
(this is not the actual picture)
they might not be specifically ice but that's how they looked like** And the other character started to counter attack by jumping from one ice spike to another.
So multiple of "ice spikes" were heading his way and he proceeded forward by dodging and doing parkour on the spikes. He went forward while the "ice spikes" were coming at him and used them as little platforms to jump on.
the scene looked like the following scenes:
https://youtu.be/3Ce_3hk-XhM starting from 10:25 to 10:40
https://youtu.be/by2pP4DN7Gk from 4:19 to 4:30
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAqMIWmJVKw from 4:50 to 5:07
I know this is a generic fight scene so i'm ready to take any ideas. The search for this show has been ongoing for 3 years
Edited by ShowWatchedAsKidKilingmeopenmale artist in movie backlot? Music
I'm trying to remember a pop/dance music video - Male singer - Could be a band, but only one artist is featured in the actual video - He's dancing and interacting with movie props and equipments in a movie backlot - E.g. artificial rain, camera cranes etc. - The actual decor seems to be mostly a western movie of some sort - Actors in costume and movie technicians are constantly moving in and out of the picture - This is NOT the Universal Studios Hollywood backlot (i.e. not Why don't you get a job)
openJ-Pop Album with Retro '80s Sound and Cover Music
A flash drive died and took my music wish list with it. What was the pop metal/arena rock album I was going to get from CD Japan that had a cover right out of the '80s with the singer posing downtown in punkish clothes? This would've been released somewhere in the 2000s or 2010s, but probably around 2007.
I know, I'm taking a long shot here.
openLibrary in Purgatory Literature
Exactly What It Says on the Tin, a novel about the library in Purgatory. Likely published in the USA sometime between 2000 and 2010, if that helps.
Edited by SumanuilopenCartoon -- boy uses laser to try to be cool
A cartoon I remember seeing on TV in maybe the late noughties or early New Tens. A boy is using a laser (I can't remember if it's Eye Beams, a Ray Gun, or something else) to zap random things, all the while declaring, "I'm cool!"
The part I remember the most vividly is when he passes by a restaurant or a store or something and zaps away some of the letters on the big sign, so the sign now reads, "CLOSED".

openChildrens book where icecream mascots come to life, monster tries to eat protagonist girl Literature
This would have been 1990s, it was a book and audio cassette readalong. I honestly don't remember too much about the illustrations other than they were cartoony, possibly pastel-coloured.
In the story a young girl ends up in a grocery store where the ice cream mascots ( might have been other food but I specifically remember ice cream) come to life. There's definitely a "cool" penguin, possibly a robot too? They go on an adventure and at the end there's a monster that tries to eat the mascots and the girl. I vividly remember the song he sings when he tries to get her;
"Little girls are very nice, especially with peas and rice - I'll tell you what I'm going to do, I'll make you into a tasty stew!"
I can't remember what the monster was, other than it frightened me! It may have been a troll or a giant. The girl and the mascots escape.
I believe the narrator might have been Lenny Henry. They were very animated which is why the song stuck with me.
I've since lost the book and cassette, and the person who gifted me the item has passed away.
This might have been a UK only release.
openFamily in a tend Live Action TV
I'll explain to you, as a child in the early 2010s, or saw on TV a scene of a man with children in a tent, they were in a room of their house, and at a certain point, inside an animal, and then each scene showed a shot of an animal different from the other, the only one I remember is a parrot, perhaps white, please help me find.
resolved Relatively Modern movie or tv show Film
What I remember, is a family arriving to a town where everyone acts wierd (typical cult town) the main character is a Doctor with his family. After encountering a sacrifice wood altar at the woods he begins to suspect about the weird behaviours of the people in town. One night they wake him up and drag him to the caves, where monsters/creatures that live and lurk in the dark make him help them gave birth of one of this monsters/creatures that is pregnant, because he is a Doctor. The scene is very graphic and dark. The creatures only communicate with growl sounds, and if I remember well have dark-blue/blue skin. So, it's revealed, the "sacrifices" people of this town made were made to feed this creatures for safety.
