Tropes definitely not - Tropes Are Tools after all, and all of them can be good if used appropriately. See for example Look Around You, which takes blatant artistic licenses on science and plays them for humor.
As for works I like… maybe? Sometime? Idk

Since I just know I'm going to be asked the inverse of that question, I'll go ahead and say that I don't really have an example of that because I try to always take in the story of the game I'm playing (assuming there is one, anyway).
