Tropers / Stepex No 2

Go To

Hi. I'm Stepex (or Epsilon, any pronouns work), and I don't do a lot here besides bickering around with other tropers, and once in a fortnight, launching a works page for an extra-obscure game. I'm also autistic and a science/math nerd. Nice to meet you!

Works pages I've launched:

List of bangers that I've found in the depths of the internet:

- Samurai Overkill
- Laser Shark Attack

     Uno Gone Rogue: Rules (WIP)

Rules: Standard Uno rules apply. In addition:

  • The whole game gets played over multiple rounds. After each round, the winner gets a victory token, which can be exchanged for 25 coins (feel free to increase if it feels inadequate, but keep in mind that it should on average be less than the money gained from losing) and 10 coins flat, the losers gain coins equivalent to the total value of their hand. "0" cards have no value, all special cards (reverse, +2, +4 and wild card etc.) have a value of 10.
  • Hands get carried over across rounds. When a new round starts, all players gain 5 cards (for a maximum of 10 cards on round start), the winner of the previous round gains seven cards.
  • The first person to gain five (feel free to adjust for game length) victory tokens wins the game!
  • After each round, the shop opens, and provides n randomly picked effect cards for sale, where n is the number of players plus 2. Each effect card costs 30 coins (feel free to adjust for balance, or give each card individual prices). The effect cards can be bought on a first-come-first-serve basis (if you're feeling chaotic), or in accordance with the turn order of the just finished round (i.e. the player that would've come next after the player who won the round gets to buy the first effect card).
  • Effect cards are tradeable! You can also buy effect cards from other players, if they agree with your price.
  • No matter what, you can only draw at most 10 cards per turn. If an effect tells you to draw another card beyond that, that effect gets nullified.
  • Not an explicit rule, but there may have to be a limit on how many effect cards players can have, just so that the game doesn't go on forever with players buying new cards indefinitely

Uno Gone Rogue: List of Effect Cards (WIP)
1. Once per round, take a look at an opponent's hand.
2. Once per round, give an opponent a card from your hand.
3. Once per round, force an opponent to draw 2 cards immediately. If the opponent has just played their final card, they're forced to keep playing.
4. Once per round, re-activate another effect card of your choice.
5. While you have this effect card, you're free to place cards if their value and the previous card's value add up to 9.
6. Once per round, force an opponent to skip their turn.
7. Once per round, reverse the turn order. In a two-player game, force the opponent to skip their turn.
8. Gain 10 coins each round in addition to your usual gain.
9. Once per round, place a card even if neither the colour nor its value match the previous card.
10. Once per round, take a peek at the highest five cards in the draw pile.
11. On round start, take a peek at the highest three cards in the draw pile - take one and add it to your hand, if you want to. Shuffle the other cards back into the deck.
12. On round start, choose a player. That player must show you their starting hand.
13. On round end, take 1/5th of all other players' coins (rounded down).
14. On round start, discard one card of your choice from your hand.
15. When forced to draw: Draw one card less.
16. Each turn, draw 1 card and play 2.
17. Your "skip turn" cards work an additional turn, for a maximum of 2 turns, and your +2 cards become +4 cards.
18. When unable to play cards: You can pick any card from the highest 5 cards in the draw pile to play. If you still can't play any of those cards, take any card from them and add them to your hand. Shuffle the other 4 cards back into the draw pile.
19. Once per turn: Take the top card from the play pile, add it to your hand. Cards taken this way will not have any effect.
20. On round end, multiply your coin gain by 1.2.
21. On round start, if a player has less cards than you, they have to draw cards until they have as many cards as you. (too complex?)
22. If you have more than 3 cards on your hand, you can play two cards per turn.
23. When it's your turn: You can pay 10 coins to play a card no matter what.
24. You no longer have to say "Uno!" when you only have one card left.
25. On round start, pick a player. For the rest of the round, they have to announce their card count in Spanish each turn.
26. If you have to draw cards due to an opponent's card or effect, the opponent is forced to draw one card.
27. Once per round, if you have to take or draw cards, you can choose to take one less. If an opponent tries to force you to take their card (i.e. via effect card #2), you can reject the card and the opponent has to keep it.
28. Outside of a round: You can set one card from your hand aside. This card will not add to your hand, but will still generate money at the end of the round.
29. Choose a player, that player has to discard an effect card. Discard this effect card afterwards.
30. Once per round, deny an opponent's effect card.
