* ToxicFamilyInfluence:
** Played with in the case of Chloè. A significant amount of her toxic behavior can be traced back to the terrible combination of her overly-indulgent father and her absolutely awful mother. On the other hand, her half-sister Zoe had the same mother and isn't cruel, and her relationship with her stepfather ends up having positive effects for both of them, so it's unclear how much of Chloe's behavior stems from her parents.
Played straight for Felix. Between his abusive father and his AmbiguouslyEvil mother, Felix has ended up with a warped moral code that prizes his own freedom over everything else, even the well-being of those he loves.

* UnderestimatingIntelligence:
** In "Revelation", [[Characters/MiraculousLadybugHawkMoth Gabriel Agreste]] fires Lila Rossi from the ad campaign for his Alliance, intending to replace her with his son Adrien and Kagami Tsurugi, the daughter of his business partner. While he fully expects her to seek revenge against him, and thus declines to akumatize her at that moment, when she later turns her wrath against Marinette Dupain-Cheng for an unrelated slight, he ''does'' akumatize her, figuring that she'll be distracted from her grudge against him. This turns out to be false; her subsequent rampage is actually a ruse to distract him while she manipulates his assistant Nathalie into raiding his personal safe, allowing her to obtain proof that he's the villain Monarch.
** In "Confrontation", Lila and Chloe hatch a plan to sabotage their classmate's applications for high school and then blame it on Marinette. The plan relies upon Sabrina forging documents, but they aren't especially concerned about that, because Sabrina is neither particularly clever nor very brave, so she dutifully forges all the documents for them, What they fail to account for is that while Sabrina isn't clever, she ''is'' smart enough to call up Marinette for advice, and Marinette concocts [[BatmanGambit a plan]] that only requires Sabrina to react the way [[DirtyCoward she normally does under stress]] in order to lead Chloe and Lila into an EngineeredPublicConfession.

* PainfulConfession:
** At the end of "[[Recap/MiraculousLadybugS04E03GangOfSecrets Gang of Secrets]]", Marinette tearfully confesses to Alya that she's Ladybug, because after spending the last few episodes watching her friends get akumatized because of her keeping secrets from them, she can no longer bear having to keep a secret identity on her own.
** In "[[Recap/MiraculousLadybugS05E16Protection Protection]]", Kagami gets akumatized because of her belief that Marinette has been pretending to be a klutz for years so that Adrien would date her out of pity. After Ladybug and Cat Noir revert her back to normal, and Marinette and Adrien arrive to take her home, she breaks down crying, confessing that she loves both of them and that it hurts her seeing them date because it means that things will change between the three of them.
