The story begins with decent writing. Things happen. People move along. There's a sense the plot is actually progressing, even.
But then you realize it isn't. The events of the background progress. But then you realize: the characters aren't. The author keeps bringing up glaring issues of the characters and then resolutely avoids resolving them. Then you start to discern patterns in the background events too, and it's all over at about thirty chapters in. (There are a lot more than thirty chapters.)
Spare yourself the expense of time and effort and the annoyance when you realize you've been cheated.
