Not perfect, but better than Alien Force and Ultimate Alien

It has its own flaws, but I enjoy the lighter tone, and I like that it's trying to fix the mistakes that Alien Force and Ultimate Alien made. AF/UA had a lot of plots that went nowhere, a ton of wasted characters (most relevant, Princess Attea, who was a one-shot in Alien Force before becoming the main villain of Omniverse's third arc), and the poorly written relationship between Gwen and Kevin. I didn't hate them, but they were pretty bland, and I had enough of them.

I like the fact that the tone is closer to the original series. The art style also has a lot more personality than the previous sequels. It really gets too much hate. I was skeptical at first, but it grew on me, and it fits the lighter tone of the show.

My only complaint is that there isn't enough interaction between humans and aliens, and that Rook can feel a bit useless sometimes. But he's still an extremely likable character, and he doesn't overshadow Ben like Gwen and Kevin did.

Ironically, I don't think Omniverse would work as well without Alien Force and Ultimate Alien's blunders.

Overall, I'd recommend it to anyone who felt unsatisfied with Alien Force or Ultimate Alien.

I don't really understand this point of view.

How did Attea have any potential? How is the tone closer to the original show? The Original Show was light-hearted, yeah, but it also knew how to get creepy. This show doesn't; I feel more like watching Teen Titans. Not that I dislike this show mind you, but that just doesn't fit Ben 10.

MORE PERSONNALITY ?!! ARE YOU KIDDIN ME?!! I could draw characters better than this, and I'm not even professional!

Okay... I admit, Rook is likable. But I'm sorry, he DID overshadow Ben much more than Gwen and Kevin at first. Got better in later epiosdes though.

Also, this show takes all bad part of AUF and put it without the good parts.

Please, be more specific in your review about what you like with this show, cause I don't get it.

I prefer Alien Force to this by far. I haven't seen that much Ultimate Alien to compare though.

Eh. Honestly, I like Omniverse more than Alien Force and Ultimate Alien. Both series had good ideas, but poor execution. Omniverse at least has fun with its premise and doesn't look back. Honestly, it feels like the Silver Age of Ben 10 in a way. Fun, if nothing else.

That's actually my big problem: the show is TOO silver-agesque. I would have liked it better if it had developped with more ambition than before. Omniverse just took the worst parts of later episodes in UAF and chose to make the sillyness go up to eleven. I don't call this fun. And I NEVER found Ben getting ridiculized funny anyway.

I have a question. How did Gwen and Kevin overshadow Ben? I'm pretty sure Ben got a lot more focus than they did in AF/UA.

MOO!

Because people were too dumb to pick up a dictionary and understand what overshadow means.

I don't know, Ben did become something of a support character between Kevin and Gwen.

I don't think so. Really, Ben was the only one to be competent as a hero, and a lot was about him: Alien Force mostly was about Ben growing up as a hero (at least until season 3), and Ultimate Alien was about Ben becoming a Knight Templar. The Gwen/Kevin relationship always was a subplot more than anything. Not a really good subplot, I give you that, but saying the show was ALL about them is exaggerating.

The reviewer is clearly wrong. The AF/UA was a superior series who knew when to be dark and series instead of senseless wacky humor and a degraded main characters. And the art style looks like ass, so clearly someone here is not an art expert.

I agree with everyone who said the UAF series was superior. Seriously I've always loved Ben 10 and even watched up to the latest episode of Omniverse. But now the writers of this series have done something I just can't stand. Spoilers for Omniverse below:

Seriously Kevin not being an actual Osmosian and Max never having his dad as a partner. I'm pretty sure not even the orginal series intended that one. (facepalm)
