Having not read the manga, I even uncertain as to whether they were simply characters the anime had dropped, curtsey of the reduced focus on the DMC. On that note, I should also mention: this fic follows the manga plotline. Not big differences from the anime, only that Nekozawa turns up more often. That beach house where Tamaki discovers Haruhi's fear of lightning? That's actually Nekozawa's in the manga, which is important for reasons that turn up later.
