A frustrating Transposition

Honestly, I had my doubts about a RWBY/DBZ crossover from the start. Still, the writing was good enough and the hooks hook-y enough that it caught my interest nonetheless. But ultimately the power level inconsistencies invariably caught up with the fic. Cinder's magic is able to temporarily lay out Vegeta because….reasons. Yet, in an Author's Note, the writer admitted that Salem's ability to remove souls wouldn't work on Frieza because…..again, reasons. Raven's able to lay out Krillin after a bit of training because again…reasons.

I can forgive a little niggling in powerlevels if the story is good enough to justify it. See, Dragon Ball Z: A Good Man for an example, where a space-faring police force is able to somehow restrain post Buu Vegeta, but the narrative is so intensive I can overlook it. But Transposition F is basically the Namek Saga transported to Remnant. It's just a concept that didn't have much further thought put behind it.

Early in the fic, it seemed to me, that the author was more interested in simply re-writing RWBY from vol. 5 on. It would've been better if he focused on that, instead of a crossover. His re-write of the Brothers Grimm Gods wasn't my thing, but at least it was unique. This story, I realized, would've been much better served if DBZ weren't apart of it at all.
