Theme: Elemental particles. Most of the things in the layers (upgrades, buyables, challenges, resources, etc.) reference them nicely.
Gameplay and core mechanics: The game's most distinct feature is its Advancement system. Once your particles per second count is high enough, you can reset progress for an Advancement that unlocks a new layer, adds content to existing ones, provides some convenience like gaining 100% of your Row 1 particles on reset per second, boost a layer's effectiveness, or otherwise help. Each layer provides a different particle type and some kind of mechanic it relies on (for instance, Flame has one-time purchase upgrades, Life has infinitely purchasable buyables, and Aqua has bars that fill at an increasingly slower rate based on Aqua particles and add to production/lower their particles' own cost once they're full).
Balancing and difficulty: The game is very well-balanced, with Advancements unlocking once you have made a decent amount of progress with the available tools. Since they're based on particles/s rather than a specific resource count, there are no real timewalls and you're free to try raising production your own way. Oftentimes, you can rely on either strategy or grinding, but you still need to think about your setup to some extent.
Content on offer: Slightly long, with 10 nicely-sized layers (none of them are a one-and-done kind of deal) and 44 Advancements. Likely to take a bit over two days of playtime, though this will depend on your strategy and whether you know what you're doing.
Polish and miscellaneous additions: There's an entire Lore tab with in-game story revealed as you progress, though understanding it may be difficult as it's spoken from the perspective of one character talking to another. It does not provide information that's vital to enjoy the gameplay, but it's nice to have. Each layer also uses icons instead of letters, making the tree's appearance more unique. No noticeable typos or glitches.
In general, it's a pleasant experience for anyone who's experienced with these kinds of games or not that's also very replayable. Through the combination of its gameplay, theme, and lore, it becomes significantly more memorable and may make you wish for more.
