Complete and Utter Shit

As a Captain America fan I get the annoyance of Steve being portrayed as evil. THIS however goes in the exact opposite direction, with gibbs_yeah liberally misinterpreting canon in order to suit his ideas. For instance he goes so far as to assume that Zemo made the video footage showing Howard being beaten to death when the film made NO such insinuation and ignores both that Steve himself admitted to suspecting it and that he kept it quiet for selfish reasons, which essentially made Steve guilty of a breach of trust. He portrays Peter being yelled at in Homecoming as proof that Tony's abusive and ignores that Peter refusing to listen to Tony had nearly gotten an entire boat full of people drowned before ignoring that Tony DOES give him a change of clothes to go home gives him the suit back when he proves that he can handle himself and allows him to go his own way. Finally he ignores numerous cases when Tony DOES express care for other people and develops as a character

In his attempt to vindicate Captain America all he succeeds in doing is making BOTH characters look bad.

I feel like you missed the point here. Flipping the script is supposed to exposed how stupid this type of plot is no matter which side.

I\'ve interacted with the author. They get VERY prickly when people disagree or try to defend Tony

Ah, well that\'s a shame I guess.

Personally, while I agree that Steve was willing to hide the truth to protect Bucky, it\'s a bit of a stretch to say that he knew that Bucky was the one who killed Howard and Maria Stark; the clipping Zola showed him in Winter Soldier only mentioned the Starks\' accident, not their killer. After all, Hydra has multiple assassins, not to mention more than one Winter Soldier, so Steve couldn\'t necessarily have known for a fact that Bucky was responsible for that specific killing.

At the very least he suspected HYDRA ordered the assassination or that Bucky could have been involved.

He cited Tony yelling at Peter as proof he was abusive when given the circumstances Peter deserved every bit of that tongue lashing

He also gets very defensive if someone brings up Wanda and Pietro willingly volunteering for HYDRA and willingly joining Ultron. Or that Wanda\'s responsible for the Hulk attacking Johannesburg. Or that Wanda\'s actions are in fact Mind Rape and not just a mildly unpleasant experience.

Thinking on it some more, I\'d rather have two sets of extremes for both fandoms over one side dominating the other. It doesn\'t make either set of fics worth reading to regular fans, but cathartic release doesn\'t have to be.

I\'ve seen too many people blame Wanda soley; Tony does have some role and Wanda IS trying to atone
