Scrooge Mc Duck vs. Shovel Knight: Most Unfair Death Battle so far

Yep. Doing my first review ever and I thought to give my thoughts on the most recent Death Battle episode. I'll try to make this not too long as I wanted to point out several things to why this Death Battle was unfair.

For the record, I don't actually hate any of these guys. I've been a fan of Duck Tales since I was a young kid and I recently played Shovel Knight and it's a nice little nod to other games such as Mega Man, Super Mario Bros. 3, and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. However, as soon I saw this match up, I knew who the winner was already.

The main reason this DB was unfair is that it's a cartoon character who has been around for decades vs. a video game character only been around for a few years and only has appeared in one game. Cartoon characters are very wacky and hard to fully kill off while Shovel Knight instantly dies to touching spikes. Scrooge Mc Duck ripping apart metal boats is impressive...but he is a cartoon character. Shovel Knight is a one-shot video game character who's greatest physical strength is holding a shovel...

Also, the DB cast left out something major: Shovel Knight can deflect projectiles with his shovel. It doesn't help he can even deflect magical projectiles meaning he could've deflected Scrooge's "anti-reality guns" back at him and possibly won the match. However, I felt he lost mainly because he was dealing with a wacky cartoon character who has been around for ages...

There it is. It's not my favorite DB in the series. It had good background music but that's about it. The next DB should be good though and hopefully in 3D. I felt this sprite DB fell short especially how Scrooge looked.

All this, and I feel like Shovel Knight\'s label of \"stupid\" and the evidence behind it was lacking; almost like they needed to throw in a flaw last minute.

I like that after writing 6 reviews of Death Battles, I thought \'Should I write a 7th? No, that would be too many.\' but then you wrote one that sums up my thoughts just as well instead. Thanks! The animation was nice and the research was all there, but Scrooge\'s Toon Physics-based feats from 70 years of comic strips, cartoons, films and games made him nigh-invincible and unstoppable. It\'s telling that the unfairness of this match-up is on the same level as Bowser VS Ganon, where it was literally impossible for Ganon to die.

Still, at least Death Battle\'s next match-up won\'t be a horrifically mismatched curb-stomp. I mean, it\'s Shapeshifting Alien Symbiote with Spider-Man\'s Powers VS Strong Guy In A Mask! There\'s no way this one could end badly.

I mean, I\'m rooting for Bane. The Symbiote still has that weakness to loud noises, right? Bane\'s intellect could give him an edge and help him figure that out... right?

I\'m rooting for Bane in the same way that I like rooting for the underdog in sporting events that I don\'t have any stake in, but... yeah, I would safely bet my life savings on this going to Venom.

One good thing about this fight? No shitty nu metal in the background ruining the fight and drowning out the characters. Hopefully, the next one will keep to the pattern.

Man, genius ain\'t what it used to be, huh?

Agreed, toon physics and crap like that can pop up way too much on characters like Scrooge. I also feel like DB has been making curb stomp battles the norm these days. Can't there be enemies that go against each other to near equal strength!? This is my first comment so I apologize for writing this in a cringey way.

I agree, nicely written. And I wouldn\'t worry about it, your first comment is better than my 1000th comment.

And I\'m only on comment 62 now.
