I found this fanfic and immediately wondered just what kind of mess blending Worm and Dark Souls together would make. I mean, they're... well, both are rather grim, but different in substance.
Then I read this and was immediately enthralled. We're seeing Taylor in a new light, at the same time grasping the world around her. The rage she feels is understandable after everything she went through, and you can't help but want good things to happen to her.
At the same time, you find it a lot easier to understand where other characters are coming from. Even the ones normally condemned to being turned into a Hate Sink in most fics.
Piggot's logic for not telling Taylor was sound, and she was right in that Brockton Bay was a sinking ship she's trying to keep afloat. They're hopelessly outnumbered, and she's done a remarkable job all things considered. This is probably one of the few times I've ever liked her character, and that's saying a lot.
