If you have read Nobody Dies, don’t bother with this. If you have not read Nobody Dies, read that instead.

Gregg is a veteran writer, and in it shows. His writing style has evolved greatly throughout the years. Unfortunately not all changes have been for the better.

The Rebuild Of Nobody Dies improves the original in some few aspects. Unfortunately the fic is ostensibly worse. The plot is more contrived than in the original, most of the changes introduced either are pointless alterations that add nothing or make the story unnecessarily convoluted, and the pacing is real slow. What does it mean? That Gregg will take forever to solve the first plotlines, and right when the story is beginning to pick up steam and get real good, it will surely die since Gregg nearly never finishes his stories, sadly. Maybe it has already, since it has been a long time since the last update, and meanwhile Gregg is writing other two stories and has started out a third one.

Most irritatingly, Nobody Dies continuing depends on the Rebuild reaching a certain point. So if this story is dead, ND is dead, too.

So… do not read this; read Nobody Dies. Sure, the story went off the rails after a while, the fourth season was not good and the Author's Saving Throw got a lot of people angry, but at least you have several dozens of chapters of craziness, heart-warming, awesomeness and Character Development before the story dies ignominiously (or read Walking In The Shadow Of Dreams, also by Gregg. The original story, since the Rebuild died at a very irritating point, right before the story took off. The original story also died but it went on for longer and it solved most of plotlines before being abandoned. Do you notice a pattern here?).

I don't think "ostensibly" means what you think it means.

English is not my first language, so that... maybe?

I am sorry, but after reading the fic I honestly think it is worse than the original.

I do get admittedly concerned when people think the original is better. The original was badly written, rushed all the way to chapter 40, then sort of just bounced from subplot to subplot for another 30 chapters before it hit the speed bump of the fourth season.
