Angsty Yet Uplifting

Absolutely wonderful story by Lady Charity. I've read it several times now and each time I couldn't help but cry the last few chapters. Lady Charity has an amazing way of incorporating such emotion in her stories and this is no exception. Be warned, it is very angsty, and yet even through a huge tragedy that throws such bleakness and suffering over the characters, the story ends on a hopeful and impacting note, emphasizing the value and importance of friends and just being alive. It's really interesting to explore each character's point of view and witness and understand the different ways each person has of coping with loss and tragedy. There's a lot of blame and guilt and suffering that is almost tangible among those affected, and it's quite amazing to see the process of acceptance and healing helped along by Arthur, who serves as a wonderful protagonist. I'd definitely recommend it, and while you're at it check out her other works as well.
