Tropes are Bad: The Series
Let me get something straight here. Tropes are neither good nor bad; like science, Tropes Are Tools that can be used, misused, abused, perused, etc. with varying results. It annoys me to no end when people say they hate a trope, call one cliche/unoriginal, or think that a work having a certain trope they dislike is a sign of bad writing. I'm sure ...

A good, but incomplete, series (UPDATED)
I just loved this series while it was still being made. The characters are pretty engaging, and while some seem like they're In Name Only compared to their canon selves, the characterization is strong enough and they're likable enough for them to be able to stand on their own. The plots largely interwoven nicely between Young Justice and the DC A...

Engaging, Character-Driven Historical Drama (For A Fan of the Time Period)
I will open this by saying I really liked The Current War in the theater. But, since I am a fan of the time period and people involved in particular and history and biography in general, I don't know if everyone else will feel the same. As someone who isn't a cultist of any of them, I thought all the lead actors turned in great performances (whic...

Not my cup of Zombie Tea
I'm no stranger to "darker" or "realistic" fics. This one just isn't that good. First issue: the reaction to Izuku's quirk. Many are distrusting of Izuku's quirk because it's a "Dark Quirk", with Aldera overlooking Bakugo's bullying because of it. But what constitutes a "Dark" Quirk? With "Cursed Blood", its sorta understandable sin...

An Explosive Debut for One of Japan's Most Influential Creators
When I first saw that this was available for streaming, I was interested at first. Bright is Alright.
Most reviews of Bright are extraordinarily dismissive. I’ll try to explain why this is not the worst movie ever. A few misconceptions first. Orcs are not simply stand-ins for African Americans like a lot of people have said – it’s a little more nuanced than that (one character casually tells us that his ancestors killed orcs by the thousands...

A great Spidey film
Right off the bat, let me say that to me Far From Home probably ranks second best amongst Spider-Man films- with the caveat that Spider-Man 2 and Into the Spider-Verse share first place. The movie takes the ongoing coming of age story of Peter to it's logical next step- by puting him in the driver's seat he should have been in all along and showi...

The Very Definition of Good But Not For Everyone
I can easily see many people not "getting" this movie. The first half to a quarter is pretty slow-burning, and the second half is very, very violent. Also, large parts of the story are somewhat ambiguous and understated leaning on psychedelic imagery and symbolism over hard facts told to the audience. All of that said, I did enjoy it, as someon...

Not what you'd expect.
The first impression a new reader who hasn't read the tags gets is that Burning Matches will be a well-written, but ultimately common collection of one-shots about the cast. That is not the case. Too long, too boring........ still worth seeing ONCE
The movie is clearly a product of the 70s, when directors were still trying to figure out how to film and edit different types of stories. What this results in is a movie that is too long, and too slow. Even a work of philosophy can pick up its pace occasionally. HAVING SAID THAT, the movie is still worth watching once. While it has an interesting premise and has a strong start, it quickly becomes unfocused, introducing additional elements from Apocrypha besides what can be explained by the premise, as well as an overpowered OC who is able to keep up Servants in a fight. Why is Batman in this movie?
I had an odd experience with this movie. The first time, I only watched about the last forty minutes of it. I very much enjoyed what I saw. The second time, though, I had the opportunity to watch from start to finish, and at this juncture I was disap...

Amazing, until it commits suicide near the end anyway
So going into this, I was thinking it was likely the best VN I'd ever read. Fantastic artwork, certainly the best soundtrack I've ever heard in a visual novel, thoroughly intricate plot, etc. It far, far exceeded my expectations for a typical eroge, though to be honest, it could barely be called that. I didn’t mind the gameplay mechanics but the characters? The story?
Squall may be an annoying protagonist, but I honestly wound up sympathising more with him than with the constant refrain of “Squall, tell us what to do!” “Squall, tell us how to feel!” “Think for us, Squall!” from the other characters. For god sake they’re supposed to be trained mercenaries, yet none of them (including his teacher and...

Pretty okay
Looks pretty good so far. Mecha and suits are cool and the characters have good chemistry, though it could be developed more. Ui is pretty memorable for a helper and I wish we'd see more of her. Villains are fun as well, especially Wyzul and Kreon. It's also interesting how they haven't revealed the Big Bad yet this far in.

It started off okay, to getting progressively interesting and then when Izuku actually made the gauntlet the story had pretty much peeked in quality, then writing took a huge nose dive. I'll try to make this an actual review guys. I personally think that the first few chapters and episodes of Bleach were better than most of the series in my honest opinion. A film loved by many, but understood by few
So I love the Incredibles, but I disagree with a lot of the interpretations, and I kind of want to address them. Thoughts on Hamilton
I have somewhat mixed thoughts on Hamilton. On the one hand, it's a good musical: the songs and storytelling are well-crafted and written. Miranda crafts a compelling tale spanning close to 100 years from Hamilton's birth in the Caribbean to his wife's death in New York without the musical feeling rushed or filled with holes. The characters are ...

Not going to lie, I did enjoy this series a lot. It was good, but could've been so much better... and shorter. First, let's start with one of its biggest problems: the pacing. Kimetsu no Yaiba is definitely one of the best new manga to come out of Shonen Jump in a while. I don't usually care for idol shows, in part for their rosy depiction of the business and also because the cast, aesthetics and songs have a safe, samey feel.
