Where did the movie get confirmed that it was going to be PG-13? I've seen rumors but nothing confirmed. The Venom Site doesn't have news of it's confirmation either.
Hide / Show RepliesIt's nothing official, but industry insiders have claimed that an R-rating is looking unlikely at the moment and Sony executives are aiming for more of a "hard PG-13" rating. Variety was the first to report on it.
At least in my country (Ireland), there are recent trailers with a 12-A rating (basically the same but as defined by the Irish Film Censor's Office) but I can't speak of American theatres.
Than shouldn't this page wait until it's been confirmed before treating it as fact? Right now its giving potentially false information.
Audience-Alienating Premise & Snark Bait are the same entry expressed twice, and overall come off as just a giant congealed slab of complaining. I'm not saying they don't apply at all, but they're very poorly written. I'm gonna go do something about it.
Hide / Show RepliesI'd be up for cutting the Snark Bait entry entirely. As for Audience-Alienating Premise, it does have some good points, but it could definitely be condensed at the very least.
So...does the film qualify as having an All Star Cast? It's a fairy impressive cast so far, so I was wondering about it.
Hide / Show RepliesI don't know if I'd really consider it an All-Star Cast. It's a good cast to be sure, but the only actor with real name recognition is Tom Hardy and maybe Michelle Williams.
Derp, forgot he was in the movie. Even so, that's really only three actors.
- "They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Many fans are already lamenting the fact that this isn't going to be developed as a spin-off to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, seeing it as a wasted opportunity to take advantage of the synergy between Marvel and Sony that it took to make the deal work in the first place, and also considering that Marvel Studios has no plans to use villains from the Raimi and Webb films for now doesn't help. Conversely, more cynical fans are relieved that Sony's standalone movie has nothing to do with the MCU, and that if the movie tanks it should have no impact on Spider-Man's tenure in setting (and that Marvel can always do a better version of the Venom character later)."
...so I'm still the only one who's so sick of marvel's bullshit, then? They would turn Venom into some wisecracking dumbass if not completely unrecognizable altogether
Edited by AntMan Hide / Show RepliesThe movie doesn't even have an official teaser trailer, so making judgements like that pre-emptively is a bit harsh IMO.
I’m curious, how did this movie not suck despite having 3 of Hollywood’s worst producers involved in it?
