Deleted for being Sugar Wiki material. I don't think it was an appropriate deletion, though.

Well, yeah the game's music deserves a mention. Is it okay if it's added like the usual Crowning Music Of Awesome entry?

Removed Moral Event Horizon since niether character can count due to have Aultristic motives for their action, while the MEH is the point where literally the only possible redemption requires your death (it literally is the point where you cannot possibly be a good person ever again because you've gone too far).

Also removed Complete Monster. It is not "that villian that I hate", it's "that villian is has not one single little not-evil quality to them and makes every other comparable villian in the story look less evil just by their presence." It's also a trope that you need to take to the cleanup thread and get it's approval first. Ignoring the thread has gotten some people mod warnings or suspensions in the past.

Deleted another MEH example because of the same reason, also because the troper involved added the main example and a second dot point consisting purely of natter. Moral Event Horizon is the point where redemption short of death is an impossiblity, and Joel doesn't count because at the end of the day he was saving an innocent girl's life.

Removed a third addition because of the Grey-and-Gray Morality involved keeps Joel and Marlene from being irredeemable.

  • Moral Event Horizon: What makes the final chapter of the game such an excellent example of Grey-and-Gray Morality, is that a character definitely crosses it, but exactly who that character is depends on who you ask. Is it Joel, who goes Papa Wolf and saves Ellie's life, but in doing so kills scores of innocent people and robs the key to overcoming the infection from the Fireflies and consequently dooms humanity to extinction, or is it Marlene, who goes Well-Intentioned Extremist and is willing to murder Ellie to provide a chance to manufacture a cure? This question is, understandably, quite the Base Breaker among the fandom.

I readded the Unfortunate Implications example from Cracked. While I agree it's a silly claim, it's still a cited example and should be addressed, in my opinion.

I don't know what's there to adress. She, a 14 year old, was nearly raped by a creepy guy with a machete after narrowly escaping being hacked into tiny pieces by him earlier. Joel was there afterwards for emotional support, sure, but note that usually the female character plays the role of emotional support. I think that's the most telling part about it, she didn't even need his help in any physical aspect, she even escaped capture on her own. Joel literally only was there for a hug afterwards. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm pretty sure I've never seen that in any media before.

I'm fairly sure most of us would agree that it doesn't actually reach Unfortunate Implications and that the article was really, really stupid — but that isn't what Larkmarn is asking here. Only that it should remain up because it's a cited audience reaction that should be mentioned — if merely for the sake of laughing at it.

I'm fine with it being up as long as the example makes it very clear that the claim the author made was mind-bogglingly stupid.
