So after learning about how the whole game was essentially Sonic Team's last chance at making a big-budget Sonic game, suddenly, a lot of aspects of the game made a lot more sense. From the themes of moving on and new chapters, to the final enemy named The End, to the ending featuring everyone going their separate ways. If the game had failed, this would have been the end of mainline Sonic games for good. But would an entry discussing this be better suited for Harsher in Hindsight due to the risk or Heartwarming in Hindsight because it did succeed?
