This specific example has been edit-warred over:

  • Critical Backlash: Criticising the game for not being like the first two Paper Mario games is a good way to cause this given the game fixes most of the problems it's predecessor has. Getting accused of having this opinion because of nostalgia is very likely. Though pointing out the flaws the game has on its own merits is fine for most.

Now, it was changed to several other versions. The first is as follows:

  • Critical Backlash: Criticising the game for not being like the first two Paper Mario games is a good way to cause this given the game fixes most of the problems it's predecessor has. Though pointing out the flaws the game has on its own merits or expressing when you feel some "fixes" made the new style's problems worse is fine for most.

And the third version:

  • Critical Backlash: Criticising the game for not being like the first two Paper Mario games is a good way to cause this given the game fixes most of the problems it's predecessor has; quite a lot of people are getting fed up with this criticism simply because it is not judging the game on it's own merits and often used in connection with nostalgia. Pointing out the flaws the game has on its own merits or expressing when you feel some "fixes" made the new style's problems worse is fine for most.

And the last:

  • Critical Backlash: Criticising the game for not being like the first two Paper Mario games is a good way to cause this given the game fixes most of the problems its predecessor has. Pointing out the flaws the game has on its own merits or expressing when you feel some "fixes" made the new style's problems worse is fine for most.

What should we word this as? Or should we get rid of this?

Get rid of it. None of the people arguing over it have read the trope page. Critical Backlash is when a work is so well-reviewed that when people play it, they're disappointed.

It has nothing to do about backlash against critics. It's people misusing an Audience Reaction for the sake of their opinions.

Actually, Critical Backlash is supposed to be for when a work is derided by critics, but the general audience doesn't think it's that bad. I'm pretty sure Hype Backlash is for the reverse. These examples seem to lean more towards Complaining About People Not Liking the Show.

... geez, yeah, sorry about that. Brain fart. But my point remains, it's not "backlash at critics" which is what both of the write-ups seem to be going for.
