That aside, it did "fail" among western fans, but mostly because of a shoody flash clone made by some guys in New Grounds who didn't even bother giving it a chance and a Capcom Mobile US producer who constantly pushed it back until it was put into a limbo in 2014.
Also I'd like to note there's a bit of Broken Base. Or rather: Two.
Those who welcomed the new style VS those who wish the game was 2D VS those who wish the game didn't have slide NOR Mega Buster NOR Double Gear NOR Rush buttons.
On Steam, there are those who won't buy it because of Denuvo DRM and those who didn't mind the DRM.
