Anime - Akatsuki's respect for Nyanta is particularly respectful in her self-introduction to Nyanta; in the novel she refers to him as 'Teacher', showing him great respect (over, say, Naotsugu). Though it's obvious some of that respect stems from Nyanta being a phenomenal badass, I also suspect that this is partially due to the fact that Nyanta is clearly a role-player (nya~) and constantly in-character. For a role-player like Akatsuki, it would be natural to treat him with respect, as a sort of role-player to role-player handshake.
