"Despite the shift to the MMO series, at Blizzcon 2018, it was announced that a long desired remake of Warcraft III was in the works. The remake, called Warcraft III: Reforged, was to be a—from the ground up—remaster of Warcraft III, complete with new models, voice overs, and redone cutscenes. The game was released in January 2020."

So should the abysmal reception and fan backlash towards Reforged be mentioned in the description?

Not really, that's YMMV stuff.

That said, mentioning that Reforged failed to actually deliver on many of the things offered would be in order.

Exactly. Is there a non-inflammatory way of putting it?

The remake, called Warcraft III: Reforged, was to be a—from the ground up—remaster of Warcraft III, complete with new models, voice overs, and redone cutscenes. Shouldn't this get turned into a Franchise? I mean, a series of RTS-games, a MMORPG, manga, comics and novels? There's even a development hell movie!

Well there is Warcraft Expanded Universe but, as its name implies, it only lists the works in the expanded universe (novels and RPG and stuff). Maybe we should make it into a Franchise/Warcraft page and instead of a general Video Game/Warcraft page (that mostly has examples from WCIII anyway) have pages for each game.

I think that each game deserves its own entry, as opposed to dumping all three into a single entry that is very troperific and cluttered. Each game has its own specific tropes.

The following entries relating to this series are on Prison Episode:

  • The Frozen Throne had a campaign mission where Lady Vashj and Kael'thas free the Blood Elves from the Dalaran dungeons, which were full of UltraHorrifyingMonsters. It wasn't a bad level, but at of the day it wasn't as challenging as the normal base-building campaign missions.
    • World Of Warcraft has the Stockades, an instanced prison dungeon in the centre of Stormwind serving prior to the Cataclysm as a continuation of the Defias questline and now updated to fit current miscreants.

Now, bear in mind that Prison Episode is defined as a prison-centered installment of a series not otherwise about prison; many examples are more along the lines of a level, and I was wondering if these were too.

Not that this would disqualify them; in that trope's discussion page, battosaijoe claimed that a level should count if it makes up a significant enough portion of the gameplay, and kjnoren claimed to have looked through the video game section, removing the more obvious non-examples.

In any case, would you say they qualify?

So... To play on the curisoity sparked from the example from High Octane Nightmare Fuel. What WOULD happen if the Orcs/Horde actually invaded the modern day world we live in now? I imagine it'd be pretty unpleasant.

Er... we'd utterly annihilate them thanks to superior military technology (e.g., tanks against swords). And then our scientists would be crawling all over the Dark Portal to figure out how we can replicate interdimensional travel.

I agree with Fighteer. It would be unpleasant—for the Orcs.
