So we’re getting a remaster! Is there a forum thread we can go to to talk about it or should I make one?

Re: Book Dumb

I don't think there's any need to make excuses for Garcia being bad at reading (I.e. "it could be because he's not reading in his native tongue") - it could just be because he's not very literate or any number of other reasons such as comic humor (as both a reader and a listener, to respond to things after they've been read aloud as opposed to, say, reading ahead while Johnson is slowly reading out loud and to justify reading the book out loud when it's him reading), to break up the monotony, to show that he's a man of action rather than words, or any other reason. Not only do I doubt that caveat would be added if he were not a minority, but I think that a) the game is probably not meant to be taken seriously, so it's unlikely to be either social commentary or actual racism, and b) the game is likely to play on stereotypes (in this case not of race, but of the dumb action hero who can slaughter nearly invincible demons while suffering immense psychological damage without allowing it to overcome him but still has trouble reading a complete sentence because every hero needs some sort of weakness). Add to that the fact that Garcia does not do things that most people would do, such as fight demons, rescue and take home a girl that he finds in a dumpster, or carry on a relationship with someone who apparently has psychotic episodes or something to that effect, and I think it's a rational part of his character.

This has been "overanalyzing comments made by tropers" for today.

Badass Spaniard has been renamed to Dashing Hispanic. The trope requires some necessary characteristics, like being a rogue Anti-Hero of wit and charm, kind of like Zorro. There is not enough context to tell if it fits here.

I would say "not really". Garcia's a thug compared to Zorro.

So, should we change the image text to "with his boner" or would that be to obvious?

Yes, it seems "Fucking" is literally his middle name.

Is there a offical source that backs that up? <first name> fucking <last name> is a legitimate cheesy one liner.

To point one, eh, potato po-tah-to. I think it'd a little too on the nose personally to call it his boner, when "Johnson" is pretty well known as a euphemism, and it also identifies Johnson as a character. Of course, I might be biased considering I was the one who put it up oh so long ago.

As to the second point, no there is no official source to back that up. I TOTALLY wish there was. Personally, I have no problem with fanon claiming as such. It's not like "seems" is committal about it.

They do write it with a capital F, if memory serves.

I didn't have subtitles on, so I'll take your word for it.
