Just made an account to make a quick note, in hopes that this'll be corrected. Under the "Violation of Common Sense" trope, a troper noted that Claire's SMG does a little more damage when it has a suppressor equipped. This was followed by a claim that IRL suppressors work by slowing down the round to prevent it from breaking the sound barrier. This isn't true at all- in reality, suppressors simply trap and cool the resulting combustion gases and cause a more gradual change in air pressure, and will actually increase the velocity of projectiles fired through them slightly, since it acts a bit like a barrel extension. Any decrease in velocity found in suppressed munitions is the result of the round itself (heavier bullet, smaller gunpowder loads, etc.) rather than the suppressor.
Edited by KarlFranz Hide / Show RepliesYeah I believe I wrote that under influence of Monster energy and sleep deprivation. You could edit that out if you'd like. For some reason the TV Tropes editor isn't working for me so I couldn't do it on my end.
It's obvious to everyone (apart from a couple of brainless trolls) that there are some pretty big inconsistencies/plotholes caused by the reimagining of R E2make's story from RE 2. Right now, these are divided into Continuity Snarl and Adaptation-Induced Plot Hole. But are these the right tropes to be using? Is there even a need to separate the examples between them? I ask because somebody actually erased the R E2make's entries from the AIPH page, arguing that they felt more like general plot holes than adaptation-induced ones.
