Oh okay thanks, i havent played AQ classic for years. Well Affably Evil just means they're polite and nice while being evil and it's not all an act. Also the games don't always keep things the same, Drakath underwent huge changes in each game, while Sally is far more evil in AQW than DF. We don't know what AQ 3 D will do with Morgul yet.
Galanoth's alignment is kind of questionable though with though the first cut scene does estbalish that the great dragon war has already happened and ended with a stalemate between him and Alkaoth. What did happen? Did Drakonan, Demento, the fire guaridan armor and the ice katana exist in this time line? Did the death of Demento at the hands of Drakonan push Galanoth over the edge or was it Akothoth.
T He Great Fire war happened in AQ DF and AQ Worlds, in all three games Galanoth had the hero to help him deal with the loss of his long time friend. It took the intervention of the hero and a lot of character development for Galanoth to yield to the request of the Avatar of the fire lord. I think prior to this game Galanoth had hit a moral event horion and a dispair event horizon. One of the things you find out in the first cut scene is that he is not only willing to kill good dragons he refuses to belive they exist. That said if (this may count as a minor spoiler) if you buy the gurdian dragon package and open the right chest you find a note that indicates Galanoth used to be a guadian. That's right. Guarudans to serve the Guardian Dragon. the chest contains the broken hilt of Galanoth's old guaridan blade. So you have an ex Guaridan dragon slayer who wants to erriadicate ALL dragons (does that include the Guardian Dragon?)

So Talyn just got removed as a Knight of Cerebus. I've read the link and the reasons, but I'd still argue this example counts.
Prior to Talyn, AQ 3 D was very light hearted with no real stakes in the game. Even in Doomwood, there were some Paladins who were slaughtered and turned undead, but that occurred offscreen and the villain is not played very seriously.
Talyn was introduced several months after the game's debut and he permanently ups the stakes of the story. From that point on, everything is a great deal more dangerous.
Perhaps the entry needed to be worded better, but I still believe it counts.
I think you're a little quick to add the featureless protagonist rope. Adventure Quest 3D is still an open beta. I played dragonfable and Adventure Quest Worlds since Alpha test. The alpha test version of the character was quite lacking in personality. Once a beta test is over you can expect a lot of character development and possibly quite a bit of retconning in back story and plot of the game. AQ Worlds had the intro pletely retconned. Because this is a multi-platform game the releases are going to be a lot slower. I play Adventure Quest, dragonfable, and AQ Worlds. In all three games I have seen the main character go through a lot of character development. No back story but the character does gain personality as he or she goes to the plot of the story
Also greenguard has already gone through some we working and retconning

Darkhurst is an Expy of Greanmor from Adventure Quest sharing at of the same NP Cs including Morgul. Anyone who has played through Morgul's Quest chain in Adventure Quest will think twice before calling him affably evil. Nothing worse than the Necromancer class getting introduced happened, but the hero got played and he is a ghoul in the service of a very powerful necromancer
