Dragon Lady? I do get where this is coming from but Turandot actually predated the trope because the Dragon Lady trope originated in the 1930s.

Should it be kept but changed into a proto-example?

This was pulled because it is not clear if it is an example.

  • Adaptational Heroism: Liu, believe it or not. Her counterpart, Adelma, in the original Gozzi story, was in love with Calaf and willingly revealed his name to Turandot out of jealousy; Liu, on the other hand, commits suicide rather than risking revealing his name.
    • Liu has almost nothing in common with Adelma, so I assume it would be quite safe to consider Liu an original character.

Let's just say and leave it at that.
