Err...I don't mean to be difficult, but could someone clarify this trope? I get that it's something about creators not following up on a character or something they introduced, but that's all I can figure out. Maybe someone could clarify what sets this apart from Brother Chuck and the other ones like that? (I tried reading the archived discussion, but I'm still pretty lost.)
Hide / Show RepliesYou're not being difficult- I've reviewed the archives, too, and I've come to the conclusion that this really isn't distinct from Brother Chuck at all. For that matter, this page really should be about the board game anyway, so I rewrote it. If anybody thinks it's tropable, they can bring it back with a new title that's not going to confuse the heck out of everyone.
See you in the discussion pages.Altered the SG-1 example as Furlings are Not An Example. They are extinct and didn't leave their home planet. This is specifically dealt with in an episode or two where they go to the Furling homeworld (or it's moon - which they did colonize). Also, we couldn't figure out how their technology worked. Suspiciously, it looked very close to our own.
Keeper of The Celestial Flame
Now there are a bunch of pages with Trivial Pursuit on them, and they lead to the page about the board game. Maybe this should have been re-named rather than re-written; Brother Chuck doesn't really fit a lot of the examples I've seen.
