So, with Don, would Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep" or Only Known by Their Nickname be better? I still need to see 42 subbed, but it seems less that "Professor" (Hakase) is his job, and more that it's just the nickname Marvelous gave him. Which, I think, would put it into the latter, as opposed to the former (which is the one currently on his character sheet).
From here to the future... do you have the courage to ride with the devil? Hide / Show RepliesHe isn't Only Known By His Nickname, we know that his real name is Don and Gai does call him that once or twice.
Edited by DigifiendWhere, exactly, are people getting the idea that 199 Great Hero Battle isn't an official Vs. movie? was it ever officially stated anywhere that it wasn't?
Hide / Show RepliesIt does seem that VS movies will be twice a year from now on. After Goseiger vs Shinkenger (January 2011), and Gokaiger Goseiger 199 Heroes (May 2011), we already know of two more, and a third is obvious... Gokaiger vs Gavan (January 2012), Kamen Rider vs Super Sentai Superhero Taisen (May 2012), and presumably, Go-Busters vs Gokaiger (January 2013).
Would you say "199 Hero Great Battle" contained An Aesop, due to the fact that this movie felt a little like a tribute to Goseiger?
I suppose this can come up with this, but was calling Oiles Gils a Complete Monster works? Sure, Damaras was kind of disgusted at his acts and he crossed some Moral Event Horizon, but all of it boils down not for personal amusement, but because Gils was a very much "Well Done, Son" Guy having to put up ridicules that he's not making a good Prince so he's trying to prove himself. Also, his monologue and eventually affirmation with Barizorg did show some genuinely heartwarming moments. He's evil, yes, but I don't think putting him as a Complete Monster kinda fits, especially when compared to the rest who seems to be doing it For the Evulz...
Okay, so Marvelous and Joe are a Red Oni, Blue Oni duo, while Luka and Ahim are a Tomboy and Girly Girl duo. But what about the other two members, Don and Gai? Well, I've thought about it and what if they are a Boke and Tsukkomi Routine duo? Maybe Gai can be the Boke, while Don is the Tsukkomi? Or would it be the other way around? What do you think?
Edited by websurfer Hide / Show RepliesWhich do you think fits Joe and Ahim more? Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl or Savvy Guy, Energetic Girl? I ask these two because it seems like they're almost always seen together. Some examples are Episodes 4 and 30.
Edited by websurfer Hide / Show RepliesI think that Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl fits the two better. Savvy Guy, Energetic Girl would fit Don and Luka at most.
Edited by BlazingKaiograI agree about the former, but not so sure about the latter. I think Pink Boy, Blue Girl fits them best, because Don is a cowardly sensitive boy, while Luka is a tough brave tomboy girl.
Edited by websurferGuys, can you stop assuming that everything is a Power Rangers Shout-out, or that it will be adapted. Sentai is not written for PR fans, it's written for Japanese children and fans. It's selfish and plain ridiculous. to think writers are thinking about a fandom when they write every single episode.
Unless Word of God confirm it, it's not a shout-out. For example, the Gokaigers accidentally changed into the Turborangers not because in America the Carranger adaptation was "Turbo" but because Carranger is based off of Turboranger.

Hide / Show RepliesErr i don't excatly agree while some people were getting ahead of themselves (like the whole King eanger/Gold ranger thing) but there's no harm in what they think just so long as they aren't going to completely ludicrous lengths to make it a shout out.
Can GokaiSilver use any of the Ranger Keys that don't have a button on his phone? In my head I can either see him never using anything but the buttons on his phone but on the other hand he might have some sort of sequence to put in for other Ranger Keys or just press the dial button (I think it's the one with GoseiKnight on it) to change form into rangers that don't have buttons. What do you guys think?
Edited by NeoLightning Hide / Show RepliesBy now you should have seen him use Gold mode so it's most likely he plugs them into the bottom.
OK does The Worf Effect even apply to Gai in regards to the thrashing by Basco I mean not only did Baco kick the other Gokaiger's asses but it's Basco generally speaking he's not going to be easy to take down.
Edited by websurferWould you say the fact that the way to combine GokaiOh and GoZyuJin into GoZyuGokaiOh and bring all six Gokaigers together is to use the Greater Powers of the Abaranger set, a set that Ahim doesn't have a key from, seem ironic?
Edited by websurferI've noticed that 3 out of 6 of the Gokaigers have been listed as Video Game Characters: Marvelous as the Lightning Bruiser, Don as a Confusion Fu and Gai as the Lethal Joke Character. But what about Joe and the girls? I'm not sure about Luka, but for Joe, I'm thinking he could be a Glass Cannon and for Ahim, I think she could be a Fragile Speedster. What would be your guess?
I made a Tearjerker page (it was needed, I was crying in 23), but I don't know how to add it to the main page. Can someone help me out with that?
From here to the future... do you have the courage to ride with the devil? So ... this is the silliest question ever but what gender is Navi, anyway? I know, I know, Navi's a robot/machine thing/whatever, but this page uses both 'he' and 'she' to refer to him/her/it, and the fansub I've seen translates Navi as a female, so O_o/
Hide / Show RepliesNavi's whatever gender you want it to be, baby. *hip thrusting, '70s porn music*
The fansub I watch uses 'he', but I've always read Navi as a female (I blame Legend of Zelda). Though I'm pretty sure as a robot parrot, I doubt even the crew is entirely sure what gender Navi is. They don't even know what makes Navi run!
In all of the other trope pages I go to, "episode" or "chapter" (whichever is valid) is generally used. Is there any reason that all the instances of "episode __" have been changed to "#__"? The pound symbol doesn't look right to me, and it doesn't seem to fit with the standard that the rest of the wiki uses.
From here to the future... do you have the courage to ride with the devil?Look, I know some really want Captain Marvelous' name to be a remark to Marvel Comics Group involvement in three of the seasons, but we're gonna need something more solid to put that up as a shout out. The company's involvement was just contributing a few designs as per contractual obligations, they are not credited anywhere in the show itself and despite actually having some copyrights for a short time they have been long since excluded out of copyrights for Battle Fever J, Denjiman and Sun Vulcan. So much for naming the main character of a huge anniversary production. You'd think they would name him Shotaro or Yatsude then? /sarcasm
I'm editing it out. It's so deep in paperthin speculations it should belong on Fridge or YMMV, but not in the actual facts.
So anyone know for sure what their catch phrase is? I tried figuring it out and I got "Hane ikuze!" which can be interpreted as "Let's go make a splash!"
If anything, this is probably the better translation as it fits the pirate motif a lot more. Of course, I don't even know if this is what they're saying.
TV Tropes really did ruin my life. Hide / Show Replies派手に行くぜ = lit. let's go in a flashy way. Some fansubbers rephrased that as "Let's make a show out of it!"
I'm pretty sure the Actor Swap note is a rumor, considering that the entire cast was reported to be fine after the quake.
Power Rangers will most likely not adapt the Token Good Teammate aspect of this series, which is a Bummer.
