• Playing Gertrude: Andrea Navedo (Xiomara) is only 7 years older than Gina Rodriguez (Jane), and Jaime Camil is 11 years older than Rodriguez. Slightly justified since they were teenagers when Jane was born.

Playing Gertrude is not about the actor's age relative to their offspring's actor, it's about the actor's age relative to the character they are playing. If Xiomara and Rogelio were around 16 at the time of Jane's birth, 23 years later they're about 39. Navedo was 37 and Camil was 41 in 2014, making it an acceptable age. It's Rodriguez being 7 years older than her character that makes the difference, not Navedo and Camille's ages.

So at the end of Chapter 55 we find that Scott is now a skeleton but his badge seems completely untarnished and still the same bright blue it was. Is there a trope name for that?
