I don't recall Molly being pimped as some sort of master detective. She is onto something with the Bay Harbor Butcher, and she's following leads with the current mystery. She also recalls Dexter's actions during lunch that exposed his lies. And she does get creeped out by Kurt in the end, as evidenced by getting her mace out. And it's not odd that only one person in the few people who discuss it has heard about a "popular" podcast.
