Are the moderators and writers of this tropes page completely Anti-Laurel? This section is full of so much bias against this character that it really ruins this page.

The dislike has increased in Season Two, with Laurel spending the first few episodes wrongfully blaming the Arrow for Tommy's death and having very little relevance to the major plotlines of the season's first half. Then there's her reaction when Sara returns; while her being upset is understandable, the fact that she blames her for everything that has gone wrong in her life makes her come off as immature, especially since both Sara and Oliver have gone through much worse and not turned to drugs and alcohol to cope. Laurel is so hated, in fact, that numerous fans have said that they'd rather not have Black Canary appear at all at least now that Sara's gone than have Laurel don the costume."

Anyhow, I do not see a problem at all. YMMV tabs record opinions and because of statistical drift one having more aggregate opinions in one direction is to be expected.

There's nothing positive about her on this website. It's all completely negative, or people pointing out how other characters are better than her. People even personally attack her actress. These are just a handful of examples I found, most of whom were originally on the main page to begin with.
I am extremely dubious about that first assertion. Personal attacks on the actress ought to be removed, though.

I'm not sure how that is a phrase catch at all, when it's Olliver's catch phrase, and anybody who hears it pretty much isn't aroudn to hear it again. My only guess is that they are refering to the fact that it has been said to Oliver once or twice, but that's not enough to make it a Phrase Catch, particularly since it's always used as an Ironic Echo.

I've done a rewrite for Waif-Fu, since there are clearly far more aversions than there are characters who play it straight - also, there were non-context examples and I'm not entirely sure the previous writers were sure what the trope entailed (Sarah is a waif???)
There's still one character I'm not sure about, and that's Shado. Previous writer listed her as playing this straight, but as a Non Context Example. Now, Laconic defines Waif-Fu as "Tiny girl delivers titanic ass-kicking through the use of an improbably gymnastic style of martial arts." Shado is indeed tiny, and she can indeed kick some ass, but is her fighting style improbably gymnastic?

The Russian Arrow knows as part of his Charles Atlas Superpower may be wrong. They establish in episode one his cook is Russian and he's close to her. It's not to far off that he learned some from her.

In the pilot the maid is visibly surprised when he addresses her in Russian. His best friend is just as surprised.
It could just be that she didn't think he still knew what she tried to teach him. Not to mention during a life of looking for Babes, questions about what languages one knows don't usually come up.
Unless of course Ollie saw "BILLIONAIRE ABSCONDS WITH ENTIRE RUSSIAN BALLET" in the papers and started getting ideas.

Would it count as The Reveal when the other archer in Starling City is revealed to be Tommy Merlyn's father, Malcolm? It wasn't exactly drawn out (Dramatic Hour Long format, with his face being shown within the episode it was first concealed in) and there was hefty foreshadowing in Tommy Merlyn's surname being the same as a Green Arrow villain and his father being Obviously Evil...

It was built up a little with the last name but no one saw John Barrowman's character as being Tommy's Dad and the Dark Archer. So it's a mixed bag.

I think by early in Season 2 a full Five-Man Band will be assembled.
Oliver is The Leader / The Hero obviously
while Diggs is serving as his Lancer now, once other main characters have moved into their future Heroic identities he'll be demoted to The Big Guy and Laurel will be The Lancer.
Felicity will by The Smart Guy with a sort of pseudo Oracle role, like Chloe in latter seasons of Smallville
And Thea will be The Chick / Tagalong Kid
A direct inversion of Two Girls to a Team, kind of suits the CW
And Helena will have a recurring semi hostile relationship with them as their Sixth Ranger

Laurel... as The Lancer... heh. I think they'll leave it a while before they make her Black Canary, though. Or just Canary. Arrow no likey the colours. Agreed on most of these, but Thea is a sticking point. They're adding in Roy Harper a.k.a. Speedy (yeah, another one) as someone about Thea's age (rumoured love interest) so there's a good change he'll be in the Tagalong Kid position.
They're really pushing Thea as Speedy. Within minutes of Oliver calling Thea 'Speedy' they revealed that her full name is Thea Dearden Queen. Why didn't they just call her Mia to begin with?

Detective Lance... Cowboy Cop? In Betrayal, he uses his daughter as bait in an attempt to capture the vigilante before that ends in an Epic Fail with his daughter getting taken hostage because of the association that she had with the vigilante being known through news coverage of said Epic Fail. He then goes on to almost kill the guy that kidnapped her, only being stopped by the vigilante (who he hates because 'The Hood' kills people without mercy or hesitation.) "I'm the vigilante. You're the cop." Coming from the vigilante he's hunting, it's quite a What the Hell, Hero? moment for the detective.
Basically, he's a cop that broke the rules in this episode. First, he couldn't care less about his daughter so long as he got his target. Then he couldn't care less about the rules when he conspired with a wanted man and tried to murder someone. He was a jerkass, sure, but he's a cop. So I thought a cop trope might fit. If not, am I just thumping a square peg hopelessly into a round trope because he's a cop and 'jerkass' is perfectly suitable?

Large Ham for Helena? I'm not sure I see that. Its worth noting that the character is in somewhat larger than life situations. She shows just as many moments of being sedate and quietly dramatic, and there's not much of it that I would call over-the-top.

The rationale of his "Undertaking" is "Let's slaughter thousands of have-nots to make life better for the haves". That really stretches the definition of "Good Intentions".

I'm not sure I see this AT ALL. The Worf Effect describes someone who is known in-universe as an incredible badass, who then suffers defeats as a shorthand method of establishing another character's badassery. Diggle, up until he managed to shoot the mooks threatening Laurel and Oliver, had not actually DONE anything. True, he has the credentials of a hard, dangerous man, but so far that's mostly an informed attribute. China White's trouncing of him does more to reinforce the latter than play off the former as an example of the W-E. Given a few more displays of actual competence and fierceness, I can very easily see Diggle earning his Worf-ness... but so far he has not. I'm still not going to delete or change the entry, but I reallyreally feel it's premature to call it that.
Worf Effect also means that the "Worf" in question has long been established as a badass. Given that this is still the start of the series, yes, it's way too premature.

My view on the few Trick Arrows he uses are that the tech is just a few years ahead of their time. The hacking arrow for instance is just an arrow with a modified usb port and bluetooth tech. Not to mention the audio recorder arrow could just have the mic in it while the dart is that actual recording source. We also have to take into account what might be in the book Ollie was given. I'm sure it probably has more then a list of those part of the conspiracy we've seen so far. Not to mention The Queen Industries R&D department might be missing a few prototypes.
Worf was an implied Basass at his introduction due to being a Klingon, same with Diggs due to being a Body Gaurd/War Vet.
How is anyone a Badass Normal in this show when nobody has superpowers?

My apologies if it's annoying, but sadly the answer is no. 88 seems inexplicably hurt by the idea of the hero (or the show?) being less than perfectly perfect... or at least that's what I infer from their actions, since they give no explanation for the deletion. I happen to feel that the trope is not only well-supported by what we've seen, it's also important to have this profound dissonance pointed out, as it speaks to the very core of the main character and the show. That being the case, I'll not allow it to be excised simply because someone can't handle it being on the page. Again, my apologies for the continued back and forth.
Is it really fair to label Diggle the "Token Minority" when there are also two black supporting characters; Walter and Quiton's partner?
