whats the deal with having every villian page be "narrated" by the villian? joker & deadpool I can understand, since they occasionaly break the fourth wall. but this is just getting silly!

I agree on this one... Luthor and Sinestro need to be rewritten to third person.

It was a trend started by The Joker's page, then continued here. Adds to the fun and personality of the site.

it only adds to the fun if, you know, its funny! this first person stuff is poinless unless the charachter breaks the fourth wall in continuity!

I think you're making a bigger deal out of it than it really is.

I beg to differ, I mean DARKSEID writing his own page?!?

You're using allcaps and italics, exclamation points, and multiple question marks.

Yes, you're making a bigger deal out of it than it really is.

I'm sorry, but just because you like it better this way, doesnt mean that I am making a big deal over nothing. this trend of having charachters who dont break the fourth wall narrate their own pages actualy detracts from the fun and personality of the site in quite a few peoples opinions. ( I'll bring links to support my views when I get around to it)

Just because I like it better this way? I'm not the one who started the page, or even did most of it. Even if you've got people who think this is somehow less fun, I've got people who like it just fine, namely, you know, everyone who's edited the page up to now?

I personally like the idea of the villains writing their own pages. After all, they're such big egos that I highly doubt they'd let us tropers write it for them. And besides, Tv Tropes doesn't particularly care about the fourth wall here. Make up some comic book babble about "them editing the page in their own reality and we copied it." Or something.

We could make two pages for the noncrazy villains. 1st person could count as self-demonstrating, and 3rd could be the main page.

Is it really accurate to call Lex Luthor the Trope Codifier of Super Villains? A large part of his modern day appeal is that he doesn't act like how most supervillains are expected to act. He's become more of a Deconstruction than anything.

"Modern day appeal." Trope Codifier doesn't mean him as he is now, and as the page notes, he wasn't always like his modern incarnation. The Trope Codifier bit is about how he used to be.
