This was listed under Laser-Guided Karma, and I moved it here as it doesn't seem (to me, at least) like an example of that trope:

  • Also, in the previous episode, Fat Neil is found to have killed the yam just so that he can enjoy summer vacation with his girl friend. The study group ruins this with their trial. But Starburns' death which was a repercussion of all the work from the study group, turns out to cause them to lose their summer too.

Say what you will, Neil destroyed everyone else's hard work (for more-or-less selfish reasons at that) and the study group were perfectly right to expose him, whereas the group themselves arguably don't deserve to have their hard work wiped away and be forced to do it again due to circumstances outside their control. This would strike me more as an example of Ironic Echo more than this trope, but I'm willing to be persuaded otherwise.

Naw, I think you're right. And Starburns' death wasn't a 'repercussion of all the work from the study group', he died because of his own stupidity. The group had nothing to do with him keeping a meth lab in his trunk. And that part makes even less sense after you watch the season finale.
